Chapter Twenty-Three
"Louis, you have got to stop pulling the 'superman' card," I said. I wasn't exactly kidding.
The determined look on Louis's face faltered at my comment. "But I make a great superman, and you heard that random scream. Someone needs help, and that means I have to take action."
Apparently our bickering was enough for Samacha. She continued to writhe around on the ground like a worm, and let me say that when I compare someone to a worm, it's not good. Worms creep me out. They're like snakes, and snakes are so scary. I mean, they have no arms! Or legs! And they wiggle around a lot, and it gives me the creeps.
"Samacha, stop having a mental breakdown already," I snapped. "It's getting annoying."
Samacha shook her head, her arms and legs shaking wildly. "N-nooo . . . not . . . d-done going c-cray c-cray yet."
That seemed to make Louis grin. He stepped towards Samacha and held out his arms, dropping Carrot on top of her. Carrot was growling and hissing maniacally at Samacha, and if I was in her position I'd be pretty freaked out. "There ya go, Sammy. Carrot will make you feel better. She's quite the understanding cat," Louis said cheerfully.
Yeah . . . that was a lie. Majorly.
Carrot continued to growl and hiss at Samacha like crazy. She raked her claws across her arms before swiftly jumping off of her and walking back into Louis's outstretched arms.
Louis gasped. "Carrot, mind your manners! You know better than to attack deranged people. Oh my gosh, what if my precious Carrot has rabies? It's the only thing that explains her vicious behavior. That was so not like her."
I think everyone but Louis knows that was Carrot's normal behavior. She's always acting like that. She just has a soft spot for Louis and Harry, and her rabies-like manners are just easily provoked around people like Ben and Samacha. Maybe she has these really cool cat powers that help her detect which people are super annoying, so she can be all psychotic towards them instead of people who don't deserve to see that. Yes, that has to be it!
"Mumph," Samacha moaned in pain. "Ugh, that cat needs to be locked up. Why did she have to find us again? I hate how fate works."
Despite what Louis says, I really doubt Carrot finding us was fate. Cats seem to have this weird ability to find their owners from hundreds of miles away if they really set their mind to it. Wow, I must watch Animal Planet too much. I need a life.
"How dare you say such a thing, you spoiled little brat!" Louis said angrily, practically snarling at Samacha. "Carrot is a beautiful creature. How dare you try and put her down like that."
Samacha scowled at Louis as she struggled to get to her feet. She rubbed her arm where Carrot had scratched her, an angry frown still on her face. "Trust me dude, she's nowhere near beautiful. If you want to see beautiful in the morning, Google Ian Somerhalder when you wake up at five in the morning. You instantly feel a little better inside."
Frowning, Louis crossed his arms across his chest and narrowed his eyes at Samacha. "Seriously Samacha, how would Ian Som-whatever be considered 'beautiful' in the morning? Do you need your eyes checked?"
"I think you do," Samacha shot back. "And I can't believe you called him Ian Som-whatever! That's like a disgrace to his gorgeous face."
