Chapter Thirty-Seven

By the time I got back to camp, Adriana and Niall were gone.  It was like they had vanished into thin air.  I should have known better.  Those two can never do anything productive together.

Samacha, on the other hand, was a little too productive.  She had Liam on the ground and she was leaning over him like a raging animal.

"Tell me or I'll go all Ben-tastic on you!" she snarled in Liam's poor face.

"I told you, I don't know Taylor Lautner's number!" Liam shouted in pain.  Samacha didn't seem to believe him though.  Her fingers crept towards his neck and she tickled him viciously.  Liam burst into hysterical, pained laughter.  His legs shook in the air like he was having a spazz attack.

"Tell me!" she screamed.  Her voice was high-pitched like she was trying to mimic Ben singing screamo, which is something no one wants to witness.

"I promise, if we get rescued, I'll give you Justin Bieber's phone number," Liam begged.  "Just stop tickling me!  I'm not a baby!"

Ben popped out from behind a tree and shouted, "But you sure are cuter than one!  Ugh, I could just squeeze your cheeks!  You are per-fect, Liam!"

Samacha stopped tickling Liam and stood up.  Liam looked at Samacha with surprise written across his face.  Not even I expected her to listen to his pleading.  An evil smirk crept across her face and she walked over to Ben.  "He's all yours, Ben.  Have at it."

"Oh my gosh, really?" Ben squealed.  He looked at Liam and waved flirtatiously.  "We're gonna have so much fun together, Liam!"

Ben ran across camp on his hands and knees.  Liam screamed like a little girl as he closed in on him, and his tone got super high-pitched when Ben pounced on top of him.

"Merow, I'm a kitty-cat!" Ben said, batting at the air with his hand.  "Fear my kitty-ness!"

I watched in disturbance as Ben dragged Liam out of camp by the mouth.  He sunk his teeth into the back of Liam's t-shirt and pulled him away like he was a kitten.  Samacha was watching the two of them with approval on her face.  When she saw me staring at her, she grinned and bounded over to me.

"Samacha . . . why'd you do that?" I asked, shocked and a little furious.

Samacha looked offended that I would doubt her strange decisions.  "What?  He said he didn't know anything about Louis's problems, and that is just not okay.  He needs to know these kinds of things."

"So that makes it all right to tackle him and demand he give you Taylor Lautner's phone number?"  I crossed my arms over my chest.  For once, I was acting like I was in charge.  It was a great feeling.

"Yes.  Taylor Lautner and I are meant to be together."

I rolled my eyes at her.  For once, she sounded like Ben, and that is never a good thing.  And deep down, I think her weird behavior had been building up ever since she met Liam.  The two of them have never seen eye-to-eye.  They still blame each other for our whole group getting split up.  Samacha has never acted like the kind of person to forgive and forget - no, she's more of the revenge, secretly plotting everyone's doom type.

The sound of twigs being crushed in two filled the air.  It caught me off guard and I looked to the side.  Louis stepped out from behind the shelter of trees and trudged into camp.  He looked like a walking zombie.  His sandy brown hair was tangled and all over the place, but at the same time, it had a lifeless look to it.  Dark circles were under his blue eyes and stubble was growing on his face.
