Despite all the celebration of the new faction, Royal Navy-Australia Force, being formed, there was still some serious business to attend to. Laffey and Javelin were in serious trouble for saving Ayanami from Sakura Empire's life. Bulolo and Baragoola listened in and looked they were fuming, but not at the destroyers.
Hornet: Talk about reckless, what were you thinking? So, you all made an essessive effort so you could save an enemy. Shoot. You ain't trying to earn any medals, that's for sure.
Javelin: I apologise.
Belfast: No, please wait. There's nobody else to blame here but me. I'm the one responsible for allowing it.
PoW: That's noble of you to say, but we need to send the right message to the others.
Baragoola looked to Bulolo and it looked like she was about to snap.
Hornet: Ok, then. Laffey, Javelin. As a consequence of your actions, you're on prisoner supervision duty.
Cleveland: We have a strict rule that prisoners of war require maximum care.
Javelin: So, that means....
Hornet: We're counting on ya.
Javelin: Ok.
Laffey and Javelin were dismissed and the others sat down, which Belfast noticed Bulolo's face twitching, a clear sign she was about to snap.
PoW: That was a light punishment.
Cleveland: Well, there's no need to be overly harsh.
Hornet: Yeah, she's right, just like coffee, tea and life in general. Sweetness always helps.
Baragoola: Uh........ I don't what's up with Bulolo but.... uh.....
Finally with Hornet's word, Bulolo snapped.
Bulolo: Guard duty? What the hell, Hornet! Capturing prisoners of war isn't punishable! Only killing them is as it's against the Geneva and Hague Conventions! The rules of war!
Baragoola: She's got a point. In our world, we captured enemy technology, normally reverse-engineered them and used it against them. There's even a boat in Darling Harbour that was of Japanese or Sakura Empire origin and the Aussie commandos used it to attack Singapore harbour. Soldiers even dyed their hair black to pass themselves off as Indonesian fishermen.
PoW: What was the name of this vessel?
Baragoola: Never had a name when captured but we named it "MV Krait", after a venomous snake. It's just a little fishing boat and sunk more tonnage than any cruisers. Let me get my laptop out with a photo of it.
Baragoola got out her laptop and searched for photos and found one of "MV Krait" with a large submarine in the background.
(A/N: This is actually a photo I took during the NSW Transport Heritage Expo in October 2022. Sadly for anyone wanting Krait or HMAS Onslow appearing, not happening. Given the date, I took this long after MV Baragoola herself was scrapped.)
