Faith, Hope and Love

Chapter 14

Months had passed, everything was new for the sisters. Hindi sila nasanay na wala si Julia , hindi sila nasanay na hindi kasama ang ina. But for Faith, as the big sister for her siblings, she will take the challenge and responsibilities of being their Ate and Mama at the same time.

"Where's Dad?" Faith asked Love when she found her sister sitting at the couch.

"Hospital. Sinugod daw ni Louise si Winston don kaya sumunod si Daddy." Love replied. Faith scoffed.

"Eh si Hope?" She asked again. Love eyed her.

"In her room. Hindi pa rin lumalabas. Hindi pa nga rin kumakain simula kanina." Love answered.

"Okay." Faith uttered and heaved a sigh.

"How are you today?" She then asked and took the seat beside her sister. Love smiled.

"Okay naman Ate. Wala naman pong bago, at hindi pa rin naman ako nasasanay. I was just sitting here and wait for Mama to come home like the old times. Pero alam ko namang hindi na mangyayari 'yon." Love said. Faith pressed her lips.

"I miss her." Love added that made Faith looked at Love.

"We all do miss her, Love." She whispered. Love chuckles softly.

"How I wish everything that happened was just a dream. At kung lahat nang 'to panaginip lang, gusto ko nang magising." Love said. Faith held her hand and squeezed it gently.

"I feel the same, Love. Pero wala na kasi tayong magagawa. Wala na si Mama, at tayo nalang ang nandito. Kahit kailan naman hindi magiging madali pero diba, kakayanin naman natin as long as we're here for each other? We can get through all of this, Love." She consoled Love. Love smiled at her and nod.

"Hanggang kailan kayong hindi mag-uusap ni Dad? Kasi sa totoo lang, Ate. Nami-miss ko na ang dati. 'yung hindi ako makikiramdam kung okay ba kayo o hindi." Love uttered. Faith gulped.

"Mahirap magpanggap na okay kaming dalawa ni Daddy, Love. It's hard for me to accept everything he had done to us. Lalo na ngayong wala si Mama. Hindi ako komportable na, nandyan ang anak nya sa labas pati 'yung babaeng sumira sa atin. You can't blame me right? You know how does it feel, alam 'yung pakiramdam na parang hindi ka mahalaga dahil sa mga ginawa nya." She told Love.

"Pero Ate, si Daddy nalang ang meron tayo. Hanggang kelan mo titiisin si Daddy?" Love asked. Faith heaved a sigh.

"Right. Nandyan nga si Daddy, si Daddy nalang ang meron tayo. Pero nandyan pa rin naman sila Lola. Wala namang problema sakin kung okay kayo ni Dad, pero ako? Hangga't hindi ko nalalaman ang totoo kung paanong naaksidente si Mama para mawala sya satin, hindi ko maipapangako na magiging okay kaming dalawa ni Dad." She said that made Love heaved a deep sigh.

"I understand, Ate. I really do." Love uttered, Faith flashed a smile and mouthed 'Thank you' which made Love smiled back and nods.

"Hope? Are you in there? Pwede ba akong pumasok?" Faith knocked and asked but there's no response from Hope.

She knocked again and called Hope but there's still no response so she twitch the doorknob and peak inside. The room was dark so she switched the lights on. She then saw the figure of her sister laying in bed, covered with her blanket.

"Hoppy? Still awake?" She asked, but to no avail so she walks inside and went near Hope's bed.

"Hoppy, kanina ka pa namin hinihintay sa baba. Hindi ka pa raw - oh my gosh! Hope may lagnat ka." Faith said when she touched Hope's arm. She then saw Hope's eyes were closed. She took a deep breath and looks for the remote control of the air-con.
