The 2005 Equatorial Express Airlines An-24 crash, also known as the 2005 Baney plane crash occurred on the 16th of July 2005 after an Equatorial Express Airlines Antonov An-24, registered as 3 Charlie- Victor Quebec Romeo (3C-VQR), crashed into a side of a mountain near Baney, Equatorial Guinea, the accident killed all 60 people who were on board the plane.

The flight took off from Malabo International Airport (IATA: SSG, ICAO: FGSL), Bioko island, Equatorial Guinea for a short haul flight to Bata Airport (IATA: BSG, ICAO: FGBT), Bata, Equatorial Guinea with 60 people on board the plane, just minutes into the flight the aircraft tilted and fell from the sky, it skidded over trees for a distance of about half a mile (804 meters) and the plane crashed into the side of a mountainous jungle area near Baney, Equatorial Guinea at 10:00pm local time.
