On Saturday the 29th of February 1964, British Eagle International Airlines Flight 802/6 crashed into the Glungezer mountain near Innsbruck, Austria, the aircraft, a Bristol Britannia, registered as Golf- Alpha Oscar Victor Oscar (G-AOVO), had taken off from London Heathrow Airport (IATA: LHR, ICAO: EGLL), London, England and it's destination was Innsbruck Kranebitten Airport (IATA: INN, ICAO: LOWI), Austria, all 75 passenger and 8 crew (83 in total) were killed in the crash.

At 2:12pm, the crew of Flight 802/6 reported that they were at 10,000 feet, this was the last radio communication that was received from the flight, several minutes later, Flight 802/6 flew into the eastern slopes of the Glungezer mountains as an approximate height of 8,500 feet.
