These plane crashes take us to the African country of Eritrea, which is located next to the following countries: Sudan, Ethiopia and Djibouti and it's located near Yemen.

WARNINGS OF PLANE CRASHES

Number 1- Crash of a Ilyushin II-78
Date: The 17th of July 1998.
Time: 04:15am Local time.
Registered: Uniform Romeo- Uniform Charlie India (UR-UCI).
How many people were killed in the crash: 10 people were killed in the crash.
Circumstances: Following an uneventful cargo flight from Burgas, Bulgaria, the crew started a night time approach to Asmara- Yohannes IV Airport (IATA: ASM, ICAO: HHAS), Eritrea, the visibility was limited due to patches of fog on approach to the airport, on final approach while at an altitude of 7,890 feet, the plane struck the slope of a mountain located 4.3 kilometres sort of Runway 25, the plane disintegrated on impact and all 10 people on board the plane were killed in the crash. The wreckage was found 72 meters below the summit of the mountain.
Cause of the crash: Limited visibility and the crew failed a go around, the aircraft was 37 tons above the Maximum takeoff weight (MTOW) for the type of aircraft.

Number 2- Crash of an Antonov An-12
Date: The 13th of January 1987.
Time: 13:30pm Local Time.
How many people were killed in the crash: 54 people were killed in the crash.
Circumstances: After takeoff from Asmara- Yohannes IV Airport, while climbing , an engine failed, the crew declared an emergency and they initiated a circuit to return back to the Airport when the aircraft lost altitude and crashed in a huge explosion and all 54 people on the plane were killed in the crash.
Cause of the crash: Engine failure during climb for unknown reasons.

Number 3- Crash of an Antonov An-12
Date: The 15th of January 1984.
Registered: 1506.
How many people were killed in the crash: 26 people were killed in the crash.
Circumstances: On approach to Teseney Airport (IATA: TES, ICAO: HHTS), Eritrea, the four engine aircraft was hit by ground fire and it crashed a few kilometres from the airport, all 26 people on board the plane were killed in the crash.
Cause of the crash: Shot down by ground fire.
