"Rosé! Do you even know what you are saying?" Dan felt that he was being played around.
He had just told Jisoo that he wouldn't acknowledge his relationship with his daughter, and in the next moment, Rosé told him that she wanted to marry Jisoo.
Rosé nodded. "Is there anything wrong?"
There is!
First of all, how could a girl say that she wanted to marry someone so straightforwardly?
Where did your usual shyness as a girl go...?
Secondly, there was no way he wanted to accept a son-in-law who was more feminine than his daughter.
Thirdly, he didn't want his daughter to be heartbroken if the emperor were to know the real gender of Jisoo and chose to pursue him.
Jisoo felt that it was his mistake to choose someone whose talking was straightforward.
Usually, she would be embarrassed in front of him, but now she just blatantly blurted out something he wanted to say the most.
The roles of man and woman here had been completely switched.
Nevertheless, he liked this part of her.
"Rosé, it should be me who says the word."
Rosé pursed her lips. "But if it's you who said it, Father won't agree no matter what."
That's completely correct, and both men thought the same.
Dan rubbed his head helplessly. "Ask for your mother's permission first. I will be going out to get some fresh air."
Rosé immediately called for her Mother. Different from the stubborn Dan, she already liked Jisoo.
She often heard about what Rosé did in the palace as the guard, and it once occurred to her that if Jisoo was a man, it would be really good.
Now, as her wish had come true, she couldn't be happier.
Seeing his wife immediately support them, Dan felt helpless. He walked into the garden and looked towards the pond there.
"General Dan," Jisoo followed him outside. "Can't you at least give me a chance?"
Dan looked towards Jisoo. His mind wavered a bit, but he didn't want to acknowledge such a son-in-law. He retracted his gaze back to the pond before him and shook his head.
"No matter how good you are, I don't want to put Rosé in danger."
As a father, he cared about his daughter a lot. He didn't wish to see the girl injured or get hurt.
He was the one who was against her being a soldier in the first place, but in the end, he had to accept it.
Now, she wants to marry someone like Jisoo, but he can't bring himself to agree.
Jisoo could faintly notice the real reason Dan didn't want him. His being used to act as a girl was one thing, and the other thing was the fact that he had deceived the emperor.
With that kind of deed, there was no way the other party didn't worry about retaliation from the emperor.
Jisoo inhaled deeply. "I will overthrow him from the throne. At that time, there will be no one that can block my way anymore."
Dan was shocked at the words Jisoo said. If the one who heard it was a loyal person to the emperor, Jisoo would surely be beheaded and chased all the way.
Yet, Jisoo simply chose to state it before him. He was bold.
"Young man, do you even understand the word you're saying?" Dan's eyes narrowed.
Doesn't he fear being chased and killed even before she can do it?
"I do," Jisoo answered. "Ever since I lost my mother and nearly lost my life as well, I vowed to myself to never let the emperor go. There will come a time when the Ming Kingdom falls completely, and the emperor dethroned."
Jisoo's words were the same as saying her betrayal of the Ming Kingdom. Usually, people would treasure the land where they were born the most and do anything to protect it
Now, in front of him was a prince who was ready to see the land where she was born get destroyed and even try to take down her father.
"He is your father."
"I'm not going to kill him," Jisoo continued before Dan could say anything else. "I'm only taking the throne away from him and letting the people no longer be ruled by him."
"You're saying that, but do you know how much trouble you would make the people in the Ming Kingdom face if there is a war?"
Jisoo nodded. Lisa had told him that by going against the emperor, the people might suffer from the war. He knew that he didn't want to involve them, but he can't.
Because of that, Jackson had been buying the cities he could not let other kingdoms attack them. That was all because they didn't want ordinary people dying for their plan.
But it was impossible for no damage at all. There will be some price they need to pay to win against the emperor and realize their real dream.
"If you know, why are you still doing it?" Dan looked towards the young woman intently.
Jisoo exhaled. "Without doing anything, there won't be any change. I don't want to sit idly by the side and do nothing just because I was born into an impartial family. Everything started from revenge, but we cannot live just for revenge."
When Jisoo said "we," Dan knew that it was not a sole plan by the young man. There were others involved in this plan to overthrow the emperor.
Looking at the determination in Jisoo's eyes, somehow he remembered his youth.
He too was once a hot-blooded young man. At that time, he came to know about the deed of the crown prince,
who was the other party's status at that time and felt highly enraged, but there was nothing he could do.
He did try, but going against the masses was impossible, and he was forced to accept it as there were too many things at stake. As he grew older, he no longer dared to do it.
However, the young man before him was different. He was still a young who had thought ahead meticulously and did a lot of things in preparation. And he too was not doing this alone. He had others with the same goal as him.
Dan turned his body and waved his hand. "Only if you succeed, will you qualify to meet me again."
Jisoo beamed. He bowed respectfully before leaving. His heart was more set than before to pursue his goal.
Dan sighed. It seemed he had grown old.
Looking at the sky, he smiled slightly.
"I pray for your success, Jisoo."
