Madam Shin-Hye was stunned to hear Jackson's answer. He had just returned from his trip not long ago, and now he wanted to go again.

"You will be going away again?" she asked with a worried tone.

Jackson nodded his head slightly. "Lisa wants to do something away from here, so I will come with him and do my business as Young Noble Han."

Madam Shin-Hye nodded in understanding. "Where will you go this time?"

"Yuan Kingdom."

"That's far," Yuan Kingdom's location was far from their territory.

At least, a week's journey would be required to reach that place if they were hurried.

"I won't take a long time there," Jackson promised.

Madam Shin-Hye nodded her head. "I know you must be busy, but you have to take care of yourself during your time there."

"I will."

"By the way, you are going to go only with Lisa?"

Jackson pondered. "It's more likely to be so, but there must be his guard around. I need to prepare myself first, Mother. Please excuse me."

Madam Shin-Hye watched as Jackson walked to his room.

She didn't move from her place until Jackson disappeared from her sight.

...

Manoban Family Residence

After mulling for some time, Lisa decides to look for his mother. He quickly found the other party as his mother was making embroidery in the living room.

"Mother, are you busy?"

Shin-Hye raised her head. "What is it, Lisa?"

Lisa took a seat near him. "I need to make a long trip, and it might take some time before I can return here."

"Where are you going?"

"Yuan Kingdom," Lisa answered.

"What are you doing at that kingdom, you brat?" Leo chided.

He was staying in the next room when Lisa came in. He thought that the boy only wanted to talk about some light things, but that brat just started to talk about going for a long time.

He was truly a troublesome general to leave the territory during the war.

Lisa looked up. "I need to find Prince Xuan Pei. There is something I want to know."

Leo's face turned serious. Talking about Yuan Kingdom made him remember the trip he once had to negotiate with them.

The emperor of the Yuan Kingdom would be willing to give up his throne if the Ming Kingdom wished for unification. That kind of attitude puzzles Leo until now.

Knowing the Yuan Kingdom had one prince, it made no sense that the emperor would gladly give the whole country for them.

Since Leo didn't have that much loyalty toward this emperor, he didn't answer the offer.

He is not loyal to the emperor; he is loyal to his kingdom.

Ever since he lost his son at the hands of the emperor, he never had any feeling of loyalty towards him anymore.

All talk about maintaining the peace and doing his job was mainly to keep the Ming Kingdom intact. He didn't wish for anything significant, only the change of the emperor.

Returning to the topic, Leo shook his head. "You might die if you go there."

Lisa frowned. Why something like that would happen?

"The emperor of the Yuan Kingdom is not on good terms with his son. When I came there, he once offered me to give the entire land of the Yuan Kingdom to the Ming Kingdom should the Ming Kingdom wish for unification," Leo said calmly. His usual joking side had disappeared completely.

Lisa nodded his head in understanding.

What kind of person didn't want his son to succeed him?

There must be something behind it that he didn't know. Something that the emperor hid so well that not a single kingdom around it knew.

"That's more of the reason why I should go there," Lisa answered.

"You brat! Stop betting with your life," Leo chided.

"I'm not betting with my life. I know that I will return safely."

Hearing the confident answer from Lisa, Leo truly wondered how in the world he produced such offspring.

One that didn't seem to know fear and seemed to always have a plan to back up her word.

"You idiot! You didn't even know what you would face in that kingdom!"

"I still have some knowledge beforehand. I already collected a lot of information from all over the area to prepare for this war," Lisa remarked.

Leo inhaled sharply. This brat was genuinely annoying. He didn't even tell his grandfather about the force of the Manoban Family that the other party had been using all these years.

Still, he didn't want the other party to dive straight into trouble in the Yuan Kingdom.

"Can't you be normal for once?"

"I'm normal."

That's normal? Leo wished for nothing other than to beat his grandson right now.

If that was categorized as usual, he would not feel like this when facing him.

Shin-Hye held Leo's shoulder while shaking her head.

She knew very well what Lisa's personality was. Once that boy had decided on something, he won't back down.

Leo looked annoyed. This brat is still like that, when will he listen to his grandfather for once?

"Mother, I will be going with Jackson tomorrow," Lisa continued.

"You have to take care of yourself. Don't get hurt."

"Yes, Mother. I understand," Lisa said reassuringly. He stood up from the chair. "I need to prepare myself for the journey. Please take care of yourself, Mother."

Watching Lisa's back, Shin-Hye's eyes turned red. She too also wished for her son to stay safe and not go everywhere.

As a mother, she wanted her son to stay safe, but as a person of this era, she knew that her son was important to end this war.

Leo leaned back. "If you have something to say, you should just say it to him. He listens to you more than me."

It was a fact that he couldn't refute no matter what. Because of his decision in the past, Lisa never listened to him much anymore.

Although he did miss his cute grandson he already accepted that fact.

Shin-Hye looked toward her father-in-law. "Even if I say something to her, would she change her decision? I don't want to be a nagging mother that didn't know how to face her son. She's already an adult. If I say that I'm worried about her, she would just feel troubled."

Leo also knew about Lisa's stubborn attitude that once he had decided on something, it would be hard to change it.

He sighed. Shin-Hye was right; as a mother, she truly knew her son better.

"I just hope that brat will be alright. He keeps on creating trouble," Leo remarked.

Shin-Hye shook her head and turned to her embroidery again, trying to concentrate on finishing her work.
