After ensuring that Jennie was resting, Lisa walked outside. His eyes gleamed with ruthlessness at the thought of Pan hurting the girl.
"Lou, find out Pan's location."
"Yes, Master."
With a swift movement, Lou already disappeared into the shadows. Lisa stayed rooted in his place for a moment before moving toward Jackson's room. There, the two men were arguing over something trivial. They stopped the moment Lisa came in.
"How is she?"
"She is fine," Lisa answered. "There is no need to stay here any longer. The two of you can return first."
"What? We have just arrived earlier today!" Jackson felt that he was truly wasting time if he should travel back to the city right after he arrived in the Yuan Kingdom.
"I have gotten all the information needed. Jennie and her grandfather came here for the same reason."
Jisoo nodded. "I see, you got the information from them. They are really great to have the same mind as you."
"Great minds think alike."
Jackson rolled his eyes. That was one thing for your business here to be over, but it was not the same with him! He was a merchant, at least his second identity was, and there was no way he would let an opportunity like this slip by.
"I still have business as Young Noble Han."
Lisa looked at him. "Don't you have to find out who the spy is?"
Jackson's face turned sour. Lisa had just made him remember the things he didn't want to remember. The ambush they experienced was targeted at him, but somehow, the enemies were ready with the fact that there was Lisa there. The one they didn't expect to come was Jisoo since they didn't seem to recognize him.
It was understandable that they didn't know Jisoo. He rarely traveled with his real face before now since he needed to hide his identity and never leave the capital. Still, for the enemy to know their lineup was truly something.
"Before we leave, did you tell anyone that you and Lisa will go?" Jisoo asked.
Jackson thought about it for a moment. He was about to shake his head when he remembered something. But that should have been impossible...
"I'm not sure, probably some spy is hiding near the hospital?"
Jisoo rolled his eyes. There was no way Lisa wouldn't know that there was someone near them unless that person had martial arts even higher than Lisa. The number of people that can do that was truly very few and wouldn't have bothered listening in to their talk.
Lisa stayed silent at Jackson's remark for a moment. "If it happens again, don't hesitate."
Jackson smiled wryly. It seemed that Lisa had managed to find out just by observing his reaction. This man was truly inhuman; how can an ordinary person expect to contend with him?
Although he had his suspicion, there was still no concrete evidence and he can't go running his mouth about things that he was not sure about. Not to mention, the person they were talking about was someone whom he trusted.
Jisoo sighed. "Do what you want, just remember not to threaten your position before we are ready."
"I won't forget."
Their plan was not something they could cast away just like that. Years of planning and doing the preparation will go to waste should they be reckless. They don't want their effort to go down the drain.
"I need to handle some matter first," Lisa suddenly stood up.
Jisoo and Jackson looked at each other. They have a guess what kind of matter this Lisa wanted to do.
"Be careful, Lisa. Even if that man is already wounded badly, he's still quite an opponent for you," Jisoo reminded him.
Lisa nodded his head, "Don't worry. I know what I'm doing."
The moment he walked out of the room, Lou appeared before him and bowed down respectfully, "Master, Pan appears near the border once again. He's bringing his lance and starts his massacre again."
"Let's go," he was about to walk toward the border when Chan opened his door and looked toward the young man. The old man's eyes seemed to hold rage and dissatisfaction.
"Let me watch the fight," at the very least, he wanted to see the end of someone who had chopped off his arm and wounded his granddaughter badly. Compared with losing an arm, the feeling of losing his only granddaughter was worse. He didn't wish for the same thing to happen again.
With this arm, there was no way he could serve in the military anymore, but he still could maintain the business that the Kim Family has.
"Take care of yourself," Lisa answered and walked toward the border. He quickly spotted the big man in front of them, who was bathed in blood, and the numerous dead soldiers near him. From the way he fought, there was no way they could guess that he was wounded.
Pan looked toward the young general as he smiled, "Where is that young lady?"
"Today I will be your opponent," Lisa said icily. He took out his sword and leaped down from the wall. Chan's eyes nearly popped out at Lisa's action for he remembered the same thing that Jennie did just a few days before.
Looking toward the ground from the wall made him surprised at how courageous Jennie was before. She didn't hesitate at all to jump from such a height just to save him.
"I feel like I keep on failing as a grandfather."
His original intention of coming here was to help Jennie from getting into trouble. But instead of helping her, he has become a burden in the fight. If not for her courageous and reckless decision, he won't be able to save his life.
Gazing at the faraway place, Chan felt his determination renewed. So what if he was already an old person? As long as he was still breathing, he would do his best to support the Kim Family. With that thought in his head, he looked toward the battle again, determined to see everything until the end.
Pan took out his lance. His fatigue already decreased a lot, and he had treated his shoulder to a certain degree. He indeed waited for this person in front of him when he stopped the battle before because he knew that he wouldn't be able to fight with the other party in his previous condition, "Well, it doesn't matter as long as you can match me."
Lisa narrowed his eyes as he moved his feet and started to attack the man in front of him. He wouldn't forgive the other party for hurting the little girl. Since he had delivered himself to him, he would surely make the other party meet his end in his hand.
As the two strikes reached each other, the one being pushed back was Pan.
Pan's eyes bulged out in disbelief, and he roared before charging over again. There was no way he could accept defeat and thus the battle became heated.
"Do you think Lisa will win?"
Jennie looked toward the wall as the sound of the battle reached her ears. She heard the servants discuss the matter from outside when she woke up, so she tilted her head toward the direction of the border.
She wished that she could see the fight herself, but her body was not in the condition to move so much. By the time she reached there, the fight should have ended.
"He will win," Jennie muttered and her mouth curved into a smile.
Lisa attacked Pan hard and in one of his strikes directed toward the other party's wound, which made it open again. During that one chance, he slashed his sword toward Pan's neck, making a deep wound. Pan's eyes widened, and in the next second, he fell to the ground, no longer breathing.
Chan looked downward with a complicated feeling. That young man was indeed amazing.
Lisa clenched his hand. He will train even harder again. After all, he knew that he could only defeat him because he was already wounded.
Really, what was that Pan Family thinking by creating such a monster?
