Ming Kingdom Capital
The loss of the Kim family was truly a huge blow to the emperor. When he received the news, he almost smashed all the porcelain in the palace. The one he sent to the west border was Jang, his favorite son. Should something happen to the latter; he would undoubtedly feel heartache.
When Jisoo lost and fled to the capital with Irene, he was already in a bad mood and punished the prince severely. Jisoo was still recuperating when he heard the news.
"Ten is captured? What about Jang?" he asked.
"Prince Jang escaped before the battle ended. He is heading back to the capital," Xuan Pei answered calmly. With their ability to gather information quickly, he managed to know what happened in a short time.
"That brat is lucky. Is there any news about Yoon?"
Xuan Pei shook his head. Ever since Yoon and the others were captured by the Yuan Kingdom, they have never been seen anymore. Or rather, they might be hiding somewhere with their identity concealed. Worse than that can be they were dead.
After Strategist Wu managed to take the territory back, he journeyed to the capital. Although he hadn't arrived yet, he had sent news first that he didn't find Yoon in the territory. The emperor didn't seem to care about it as he continued to enjoy himself.
The first time he started worrying was when he heard the news of the west border fall.
"Call Strategist Wu and have him fetch that brat!"
Jongin knew that with the difference in treatment like this, there was no chance for him to vie for the throne anymore. The emperor would surely pass it to Jang.
Taking the book from the table near him, Jongin's gaze hardened. "Since he is so adamant to have Jang be the crown prince, why don't you try?"
Xuan Pei looked toward Jongin. "Is there anything I should do?"
"Yes," Jongin answered. A ruthless glint appeared in his eyes.

Ming Kingdom West Border
Ten were detained in a dark room. He was incredibly pissed at his failure in defending the city. Originally, he wanted to escape, but somehow the soldiers of the Pan Kingdom already reached the escape route and he was captured.
Looking around this dark place, he once again remembered the time of Jayn's death. He was detained in a dark room and there was no light. The room was filled with a horrible stench. The place where he was detained now was even worse. There was even a trace of blood on the wall.
The door opened, but Ten felt that he cannot believe his eyes. The one standing before him was a lady. She had a stunning appearance and a charming body. In this horrible place, she was still wearing a gorgeous dress and her way of walking was elegant.
But what makes him startled was her face.
"Krystal... You're on the Pan Kingdom side?" Ten almost cannot believe his eyes.
The girl he thought to be dead was appearing in front of him. At that time, Krystal disappeared and her trace cannot be found anymore. Unexpectedly, when she came to the light again, she had become a person from the Pan Kingdom.
Now he understood why they had lost. Among the people in the entire land, who can be more familiar with this place other than Manoban Family members? Teng, Pan, Ten, and lastly the only lady, Krystal. With her leaking the information to the Pan Kingdom, it was expected that they would lose miserably.
Krystal smirked. "Even in your wildest dream, you would never be able to guess it, do you?"
How can he guess it? The sole fact that no one knew where Krystal went was the reason they can't guess it. She disappeared completely without any trace whatsoever, and they didn't manage to track where she went.
"The Manoban Family secret force, they are in your hand right?" Ten glared at the girl. His father told him once, the secret force won't bow down to them. He had no choice but to obliterate them. However, some of them managed to escape and hid in the world.
"Even if you know that, it won't help you," Krystal answered lazily.
She took a chair and sat down in front of Ten. Her eyes bore deep hatred when her vision came to Ten. With a smile on her lips, she said calmly.
"When your father and the emperor joined hands to kill my family, do you ever dream about this day coming?"
Ten glared at the girl. If he knew that something like this would happen, he would not spare her. At that time, he was already an adult and participates in the killing. The only one they left to be alive was the seven-year-old girl named Krystal. The harmless little girl from before was now the one who held the decision of his life.
He regretted not killing the girl. If he had, this day would never come and there was no way he would experience this.
Krystal took out her necklace and placed it on her hand. At the center of the necklace was a circle with pearls on the side. And at the center of the circle was a carving in the shape of a fire, the symbol of the Manoban Family.
"Do you know what this is?" Looking at the necklace, somehow Ten remembered it as the necklace his uncle usually wore. The necklace was a gift from their grandmother to his uncle. He had touched it once before, but it was nothing special. He truly didn't know the importance of the necklace.
Now that Krystal showed it to him again, could it be there was something behind the necklace?
Krystal smiled. "This is the key to having the Manoban Family secret force follow my word. They would only listen to the person who had the necklace."
Ten's eyes widened.
"So, that's why my dear cousin. The information agency of the Manoban Family would never follow you or your father."
