When Jennie was no longer in Krystal's field of vision.
Lisa appeared in front of her. Jennie smiled at the man, "Let's go back. Have you waited for long?"
"Not at all," Lisa answered and gently lifted her unto the horse again.
Jennie let Lisa help her as she said, "Thank you."
"It's nothing," this was the least he could do to help her since he didn't manage to arrive in time to avoid her getting wounded.
Before long, the two of them had returned to the Yuan Kingdom, and Chan forced Jennie to rest while Lisa went towards the other two princes' places.
Lisa asked Lou when he arrived in the room, "Have you found out what happened at the west border?"
"The Manoban family suffered heavy losses with Pan fled from the battlefield to the Yuan Kingdom. Prince Jang returned to the capital while General Ten is captured."
Lisa didn't find the news surprising since he had just fought with Pan here, "Their leader?"
"Krystal."
The two others in the room opened their mouths wide. That harmless-looking girl was the one that brought the Lan family into destruction? The barely adult girl in their minds was indeed a bit scheming and crafty, but they didn't know that she would be so ruthless and decisive.
To instigate the battle against her own family, how much hate she has to be able to do that? Even they didn't have the intention to kill the emperor, despite their immense hate since he was their father. Of course, if Lisa wanted to kill him, they wouldn't bother to stop him.
Lisa nodded, not feeling surprised. "The information agency is in her hand."
Information agency? Jackson suddenly remembered his mother who was sent to the cold palace after meeting with a member of the Lan family. It should be them who sent those people to his mother.
"Lisa, do you know anything about that information agency?" Jackson hurriedly asked.
"It was the secret force of the Lan family that once threatened the position of the emperor," Lisa said calmly. His eyes glinted with coldness. "To avoid the information getting out, he chose to label the Lan family as traitors. Of course, only the older brother, which was why Teng could be free and even become someone the emperor trusts."
Now that he thought about it, Jennie must have known that Krystal was the leader on Pan Kingdom's side. The Kim Family seemed to be on the rise too.
...
The next morning, Chan woke up early. He walked to the wall and watched as the sun rose from the east.
"General Chan, are your wounds already healed?" Lisa noticed this old man had woken up, so he decided to approach him.
Chan looked towards his hand. "It's nothing. I was a general at my young age, getting wounded all over is usual."
Lisa agreed with that. He too had fought on the battlefield for a long time, and getting wounded was really common, especially since he fought on the frontline.
"When will you return to the Lee Kingdom?"
"After that little lass is healed," Chan answered. He didn't want to make Jennie's journey with her stomach still wounded like that. Moreover, there was no urgent need for him to go back to the Lee Kingdom.
"What about you?"
"Tomorrow," Lisa answered.
He didn't want to leave the place too, but there was news from his territory. That news made him need to return and solve some problems. If not for that, he would prefer to stay in this area for a longer time.
Chan nodded his head. "Have a safe journey."
Lisa acknowledged it before excusing himself. He returned to the girl's room and waited for Jennie to wake up. The little girl was surprised to see him waiting for her again.
"Don't you have some business to attend to?" she asked suspiciously.
Lisa shook his head. "The reason for me coming had been answered by you. For the time being, I don't have anything to do."
"The war is not over yet. Why is the general abandoning his soldiers?" Jennie asked without restraint. Usually, she would pay attention to how she talked to him when she was being Jennie. However, after the 'death' of Jayn, she chose not to anymore.
"I will return tomorrow," Lisa answered.
"I see," Jennie nodded. She looked towards the man beside her. Will he accompany her again today?
Lisa started to talk about many things with her just like before. Jennie could barely remember anything, but she enjoyed it. For Lisa, who rarely talked a lot, this was truly a challenge.
Lisa only stopped when it was afternoon. He still needed to make some preparations to go back the next day since there was something that happened in the territory.
Because of Jennie's wound, she felt rather tired and sleepy, so Lisa didn't force the girl to stay awake for long.
"You should rest," Lisa noticed that Jennie's complexion was not too good. It was probably due to the girl pushing herself to look better just to meet with Krystal.
Jennie stayed still on the bed as Lisa pulled the blanket for her. She looked back at him. "I might not be able to say farewell tomorrow, so have a safe journey, General Lisa."
Lisa nodded his head. "And you should have a good rest."
Jennie acknowledged it as she slowly drifted back to sleep. Lisa looked towards the girl for a while before walking out of the room silently to avoid disturbing the little lady.
Walking out of the room, Lisa met with Jackson, who was incredibly happy.
"Lisa, I have landed a good business. You can't believe it," he said with a laugh.
"We're going back tomorrow."
"AH? So quickly," Jackson was startled. "What about that lass, don't you want to stay with her for a longer time?"
Lisa stared coldly at Jackson and the other party immediately bolted away to tell Jisoo.
Retracting his gaze, he looked towards the sky, hoping that everything can end soon.
