Johnny's hand was once again on my thigh, rubbing it back and forth lightly. His eyes would occasionally dart between me and the empty road ahead of us, his eyes full of wonder and adoration. His skin felt warm, even through the cold storm-like breeze. His skin was smooth like softened butter, his olive skin appearing darker in the night. He looked beautiful, but then again, he always did.

Although the night was calm, me and Johnny were restless. We both felt the adrenaline, and we needed to somehow express it. It was as if we were on pills, if pills could make you feel this alive and free.

"Where do ya' wanna go?" Johnny asked me as we turned on the street that led us back into Tulsa. The streets were now a bit calmer than when we left— store lights were shut off and most had run back home to tuck in for the night. I wondered to myself if me and Johnny should go to the Curtis house, but I realised that the Gang had probably dispersed back to their homes and rooms, if not were still partying.

"My house?" I asked hesitantly. Without saying a word, Johnny turned onto my street, the rows and rows of houses all pitch black and calm. I was surprised that one of my neighbours weren't having a house party. Usually the block was booming, making it impossible to sleep. In a way, I was thankful for the dimness of it all.
