— I   RAN   THROUGH THE   DARK STREETS   OF TULSA

My heart was practically beating out of my chest as my converse hit the wet, rain soaked pavement. The soles of my shoes were deteriorating with every step, so much so that I could feel my heel touch the ground. "Shit" I whispered to myself, tears pouring down my face. I hated in being such a setting, in the dark of night. I was always scared of the dark and what lurked within it, so every shadow of every bush and every tree made me jump. "I have to get to Johnny.." I groaned as I felt my legs begin to ache.

I wasn't sure why I had to get to Johnny, but my gut told me that he was dead— if he wasn't, he was at least injured or in some sort of trouble.

I felt something gaining on me, as if the dark was following me somehow, even though I was running through that said darkness. I felt myself breaking into a sweat, my skin at the same time cold. There were chills all over my body, bumps forming on my skin.

I all of a sudden came to a street with a dead end, and underneath the street light, I saw a figure laying on the floor— it was almost like a pool of water, laying stiff and still.. all alone.

I quickly ran to it, and the closer I got, the closer I got to letting tears fall. "Johnny?" I whispered, my voice cracking underneath my breathe.

Right before my eyes laid Johnny, set dead on the pavement. A pool of blood below him began to grow larger and larger, almost like he was being swallowed by the substance. Seeing him in such a state was suffocating, I couldn't even see straight. I screamed in agony at the sight slowly growing closer toward me, my steps slowing as I desperately didn't want it to be true.
