— I   LOOKED   UP AT THE DARK   SILHOUETTE    BEFORE ME

I hurriedly wiped my tears as not to embarrass myself in front of whoever was hiding. I looked away, not wanting to see who it was. I was praying to myself that it wasn't Daisy as I didn't want to speak to her.

I wondered why she said all of those things, why she suddenly turned rotten against me. Was it something I said? I thought to myself. She wasn't always a great friend and she didn't always have the best intentions, so could that be apart of this? was she jealous? what was she trying to achieve out of it all?

"Are you alright?" A voice asked me, a familiar one. I immediately knew who it was. Johnny slowly crept his way toward me, looking at me with pity and sorrow. Did he hear was Daisy said? I thought.

I continued to look away from him, not wanting to make eye contact for if I did, I would start bawling. "I'm fine." I once again wiped my tears.

"You sure don't look it.." He shifted awkwardly, stuffing his hands in the pocket of his jean jacket. He began walking closer until he was standing right in front of me, his feet near mine. I looked down at his black converse before deciding to fully look Johnny in the eyes. I immediately felt my throat close up, my lips quivering.

My face contorted and I broke down, sobbing into my hands and not bearing to look at him any longer. I felt my makeup flow and melt off of my face, ruining my complexion. I wanted Johnny to hold me, to tell me that everything would be okay. It was as if Johnny could read my mind as he shifted closer to me slightly.
