We both didn't know how to address what happened between me and Pony. It had been tense between us 3 the morning after. I could tell that Johnny had the urge to swing at Pony every time he looked at him, but he held back. Johnny wasn't a violent person, we all knew that— so the fact that Johnny felt the need to get violent said a lot.
Johnny's leg bouncer up and down as he sat next to me on the couch of the Curtis home. The whole gang was present, and so it made the situation a lot more awkward. Everybody could sense that something was wrong, but they didn't bother to ask.
I grabbed Johnny's hand and put it on my lap, squeezing it lightly to reassure him that it was okay. Johnny then put his arm around me and pulled me into him before kissing my forehead and whispering "I love you" in my ear. I looked up at him and kissed him on the lips passionately before whispering "I love you too" against his neck as I tucked in my head. I could see from the corner of my eye that Pony was getting tense, his eyes filled with what seemed to be jealousy.
"Imma go have a smoke" Pony abruptly announced to us as he quickly got up and went outside to the porch. The gang shook it off whilst me and Johnny looked at one another. I wondered to myself if I should go and confront him, but I know that Johnny wouldn't want to me to, not without him at least.
