You blow your nose for the millionth time. Every wipe of a tissue hurts. You lean over while laying in bed to throw the tissue away in the bin.

"Hey, you alright?" Your eyes look up at your door, only to see a concerned Jenna. You physically feel a little better seeing her face. Your own personal 'pick me up'.

"Jenna. Why are you here?" You sit up slowly. "I don't want you to get sick."

"I know, but I've taken my vitamins." She walks into your room slowly, a shopping bag in hand. "And I'll wash my hands. Your mom said you were under the weather and I wanted to bring you something."

She puts the gift bag infront of you before sitting at the edge of your bed.

"You really didn't have to do that." You smile. "Please ignore the mess that I am right now."

"Dude, you're sick. You're obviously not going to look your best because you're not feeling your best." Jenna rests a hand on your leg that's under the blankets. "I don't care. I just care that you get well."

"Hopefully that's very soon." You say. "I got some medication because I can't anymore."

"And with all that medication...I brought you some snacks to enjoy." She motions to the bag. "All your favourite."

"Thank you. You're so sweet." You open the bag. "I wish I could hug you right now."

She sits cross-legged on your bed. "How are you feeling?"

You move the bag aside with a sigh. "My nose is blocked. I've used so many tissues and it hurts to swallow. I don't even feel like talking as much."

"That's cool with me. You talk too much anyway." Jenna says before laughing. "I'm kidding. We don't have to talk."

Jenna suddenly stands up. "Pick a movie for us to watch while I go make us some tea."

"Okay. That sounds good." You say grabbing the remote.

After a while, Jenna returns with two steaming cups.

"And what did you decide?" She asks carefully passing you your cup.

"Y/f/m." You answer.

"Always a winner." Jenna smiles.

Jenna knows that this is one of your favourite movies. You've watched it so many times you could quote it word for word.

She grabs another blanket from your cupboard and places it over herself when she sits at your feet end.

You press play and the two of you watch in silence. Sipping your tea every few minutes.

Your mother even popped in and brought some soup for you and even some for Jenna.

"I'm not really hungry." You say looking at the soup. You wince just thinking of swallowing food.

"I know you probably ate very bad, so I'm gonna feed you." She moves to sit closer to you. "Just a few spoons. You need the energy."

You don't make a fuss and allow her to feed you some warm spoonfuls.

You look at her focusing on the soup and you think of how grateful you are and all that she does for you even when you're not feeling your best.

"What?" Jenna's eyebrows frown slightly.

"Nothing." You answer. "You're just such a good friend."

"Eat your food." Jenna breaks into a smile.

To your suprise, you actually finish the whole bowl, which makes Jenna happy. She puts the empty bowls aside and sits back at her previous spot.

As the movie continues to play, you feel your eyelids become heavy. You fight with everything in you to stay awake.

"It's okay, sleep." You hear Jenna say. "I'll stay a little till you're completely lights out."

"Thanks Jenna." You close your eyes. "You're the best."

Author's Note:

It's not nice being sick. If you're not feeling well at the moment take care of yourself. And get well soon.
