One of Jenna's helpers gave Valeria a letter addressed to you.
She asked for your presence at the gardens this afternoon. You were very hesitant, but Valeria convinced you.
"Beautiful isn't it?" Jenna asks, touching the soft and pink flower petals.
"I must admit, it is." You look around the walkway with hedges made of flowers.
"Calming too." Jenna gives you a small smile. You're actually surprised by it that you can't help but smile back.
"Let's go sit over there." she points to the fountain in the middle of the garden.
"Is this your spot?" You ask once you sit down next to her.
"Yes," she looks around the garden. "I grew up an only child, unlike you." She holds a laugh. "Most days I'd want to sit in the quiet. To get away from the cameras and criticism."
"I'm sorry about that. I'm not used that kind of attention and I don't think I'll ever be. I can't even imagine what it's like for you." You state, letting your hand touching the fountain water. "I actually prefer to be in the background."
"Is that why you're always talking to the help. You want to be treated normally?" Jenna asks meeting your eyes.
"Is that such a bad thing?" You ask trying to read her eyes.
"No, because I do the same." She slouches her back looking at some birds. Uncommon posture for a royal.
You watch her carefully. Trying to figure her out. She seems more relaxed.
"My parents say we're doing well with the publicity." She sits upright again. "We might be able to get our people used to the idea of not being enemies, but allies."
"Your people seem to think otherwise." You admit. "They know I don't fit in here. Everyone knows it. Like should befriend like."
Jenna looks at you opening her mouth then closes it, quickly looking away.
"You can leave, if you want." Jenna speaks, but not looking you in the eye. "You don't have to continue whatever this is." She begins to stand up and dust herself off.
"That's...not what I meant." You answer.
"I have classes to attend. I'll see you at dinner." Jenna does a curtsy and walks away.

Tired of being in the castle all the time, you decided to take the afternoon to explore the city with Valeria. You begged her not tell the others where exactly you'd be going. You didn't want to be followed.
When you get out of the car, your eyes fall on the violent flashes of lights coming from the front of the castle gates.
"What's going on?" You ask, searching through the group of security around you.
You quickly catch a glimpse of Jenna standing by the front gate talking into many microphones.
"Why is-" You start.
"It's her royal Highness! There she is!" You hear shouting from the group. A few coming in your direction.
You barely see Jenna turn in your direction before being gripped by the shoulders.
"Come lets get you out of there." And with the help of the security, they quickly usher you inside the castle and take you down some stairs.
"Where are we going?" You ask, trying to catch your breath.
Your mind thinks it's to the dungeon. That you are finally done for.
"Some place to get your mind off things." Valeria says opening the door.
You realize that it's an entertainment area. In this case, a panic room if you will.
A pool table, TV, couches, bookshelves etc.
You shake your head to focus. "Why are there reporters with Jenna?"
Valeria's face falls."Y/n-"
"Answer me!" You feel your face heating up. Your throat tight.
Valeria exhales. "A rumour has been spread that you and Jenna will not be going ahead with the alliance. You both have failed."
"So she's denying it?" You ask a bit eagerly. "That's why she's talking to them."
They say silence is also an answer and you just got yours.
"She's - ok." You slowly nod. Accepting the person that Jenna really is. "It's for the best I guess."

"Y/n! I've been looking all over for you!" Jenna barges in, the door flying open.
You watch her rapid breathing and clenched fists as she nears you, sitting on the couch with a book.
"I've been here the whole time." You watch Jenna look flushed. You immediately stand up to face her.
"Leave us." She growls.
You watch as her bodyguards and helpers leave the room and close the door behind them.
"What's the matter?" You ask taken aback.
"You should've said something." Jenna exhales, eyes closed. "That you wanted to go out for a bit."
"I don't have to explain anything to you." You spit. "But if you must know, I was just overwhelmed, I needed to escape."
Jenna shakes her head.
"Are you upset?" You asked bitterly.
"I couldn't bare the thought of you being hurt." You barely hear Jenna utter the words as she looks to the wall.
"Look, I appreciate the concern even though I know you're just pretending-"
"Pretending?" Jenna scoffs. "The only pretending I did, was to pretend that I dislike you."
Your brows frown in confusion. "W-what are you saying?"
Jenna pinches her nose. "You don't understand." She begins to pace. When her eyes meets yours again, it's intense. You're forced to look away.
"You... It's from the moment my eyes fell on yours I was stunned." She continues to look at you. You take a step back, only for her to inch forward.
"My body didn't know how to react to your energy. You felt like goodness, like you possess luck or something. My instinct was that whatever you have, I need it close to me." She smiles, then it falls. "But then again, I don't want to darken your world. I didn't want you to be miserable for the rest of your life. I wanted you to chose me as your close friend too.
"So I did what I thought was right. I made myself the bad guy in that rumour. You probably heard about it by now."
"You wanted me to leave." You accuse.
"I didn't start that rumour, but I did want to give you a way get out. Even if it meant painting myself as the villian." Jenna admits.
You watch her look so desperate, sad and tired. You finally see her through the mask she's been wearing all this time
"Jenna..."
"Y/n, don't drag this out please." she raises her hand to stop you. "Just tell me what you want. The choice is yours."
You're surprised by her abruptness. "I want..."
Jenna sighs and turns towards the door, but you grab her warm hand. She turns to meet your eye .
"Would you let me finish?" You say. Jenna turns to you fully.
"I want to stay here, and get to know you better." You smile. "If you have some darkness, which I doubt, I don't mind. We'll balance each other out."
Jenna gives you the most broadest smile. "Can I hold you?"
"Please." You say, all you ever wanted was for her to be herself with you. Not the princess, but Jenna.
Jenna engulfs you in an embrace. She's gentle. You close your eyes focusing on her breath. She holds you for quite some time, before both of you decide to let go.
"I'll tell them we're having dinner here tonight. Looks like we have lots to talk about." Jenna smiles and you do the same before she leaves the room.
