"And why do I have to meet her again?" You ask your assistant. You watch the buildings as your car drives past.

"It's important that both of you seem close and friendly. This builds an alliance with your families. You two are basically the poster children for this." She explains checking her phone.

"I'm not in the mood for an entitled brat." You mutter under your breath.

"You don't even know her, you haven't even spoken to her y/n."

"I already know I'm going to be looked down upon." You rub your temples. "I'm walking into her territory, Valeria. She can just kick me out at any time."

"Y/n, please remain calm. And be on your best behaviour. Your parents are counting on you." Valeria warns.
"Oh, don't I know that already." You laugh sarcastically.

You and Valeria stand in a corridor finally meeting the princess your parents told you so much about. Mostly good, but that's not what the media says.
Princess Jenna walks towards you. She doesn't smile.

You notice that she actually has freckles. Most of her photos never showed that feature. They were kind of cute.

"Your royal highness" You cursty.

"Your royal highness." Jenna follows suite. She looks back at you.

"Princess Jenna, how have-"

Jenna continues walking as if she's never heard you.

"What the hell was that?" You ask Valeria as you watch Jenna leave the room.

"Don't argue." She says. "Maybe she has social anxiety."

As 3 days go by, you've already memorized where everything is in the castle.

You've mostly spent time in your room reading, talking to your parents on the phone or walking around the castle grounds. Sometimes you'd even make conversation with your helpers. They seemed quite kind.

The only time you'd see Princess Jenna was when you had breakfast, lunch and dinner. The conversation was always very polite and short. Nothing deep.
You assumed Jenna had more important things to worry about instead of getting to know you better.

"Jenna, is something wrong? Did I do something." You catch up to her before she heads into the library.

Jenna turns to meet you, neutral face. "Why are you asking me this, y/n?"

"Well...you never seem to talk to me alone. Always in a group setting. Are you scared of me or something?" You hold a teasing smile.

Jenna exhales. "I just thought you'd prefer to have people around. To feel comfortable and show you that I'm not a threat."

"It's too late to be comfortable." You mumble.

"But since we're on this topic," she crosses her arms. "you don't seem happy here."

"Oh, I wonder why?" You answer with some attitude.

"You know what - We're both forced into this situation, your highness." Jenna bites back.

"But you're not making it any easier!" You cry. "You ignore me when I try to make conversation, you barely meet my eye when we talk, you don't even try to get to know me." You give Jenna a once-over. "But what would I expect from an entitled princess. You do not care for others except yourself."

Jenna immediately steps into your space, casting a shadow on your face. You actually smell her jasmine fragrance. "You don't know me, y/n. Don't act like you do." She warns softly before walking into the library.
