You gasp as you open your eyes. Darkness all around you, but at least you're awake. You're alive. No one is coming for you.

"Y/n. You okay?" You hear Jenna's worried voice from the door. She walks over to you, flashlight from her phone in hand. "Thought I heard you talking."

"Bad dream. That's all." You close your eyes and touch your wet forehead. "It's just a dream."

Jenna sits on your bed and examines you. "You're sweating. Do you want me to run you a bath?"

Your heart is pounding in your ear, your breathing still irregular. You take a deep breath. "No. Don't worry."

"Just breathe." Jenna whispers, wiping your face with some tissues. "Just breathe. It's okay. You're okay."

"It's not real." You say to yourself.

"Yes, it's not real. You're safe in bed and I'm here." Your eyes meet Jenna's and you can see her concern, but she smiles and you instantly feel better.

You take off your wet pajama top and Jenna takes it from you. She stands up and opens your cupboard. "You want to share-" She hands you a baggy shirt. "Your dream?"

"No, no." You shake your head quickly. You put the shirt on and climb deeper into bed. "Let's leave it okay. I'm sorry if I woke you up."

She sits down next to you again. "I'm sorry that you had a nightmare." She rests her hand on yours. "Did you watch a horror movie or something?"

"No. Not at all." You answer, wanting to shake the feeling off.

"Let me go make you something to drink." You grab her hand before she stands.

"No, don't go." You look deep in her eyes wanting her to see the fear hovering around you. "Just stay here please. Stay a little while longer."

She nods understanding."Move over."

You make space for her to lay and she sinks in, covering herself with the blankets. "You want to talk about anything else?" Jenna asks facing you. "I know you have work in the morning, I don't want you to be up all night."

"Can you play some soothing music?" You close your eyes again. "Nothing with lyrics please."

"Ah, wait I have the perfect thing." She grabs her phone from her pajama pocket, the light bright in the darkness. She searches something on Spotify.

Soft soothing music begins to play and you feel yourself becoming calmer.

"Close your eyes y/n. You don't have to worry." Jenna lays facing you again and strokes your hair. "I'll be here till you fall asleep. Don't be surprised if I fall asleep here too. This sound works for me all the time." She giggles.

"I won't mind at all." You say, your eyes still closed. "Just don't snore."

"Get your ass to sleep." Jenna says with a little bit of attitude, but giggles afterwards.

"Gladly." You whisper with a laugh.
