The two of you come from the y/f/t* drive thru, now on your way home, until Jenna places a hand on yours that's holding the steering wheel.

"Park the car here." Jenna points to the side of the road.

"Right here? You sure?" You ask slowing down.

"Just park here. Trust me on this."

You park the car on the side of the road and switch off the ignition. The only lights visible are the street lamps and your dashboard. The pelting of raindrops on the car roof was the only sound you could hear.
A welcoming chill went through you. You watched as the drops slid down your windshield.

"Now what?" You ask making yourself more comfortable in your seat. You wonder what made Jenna want to stop.

Jenna switches on the interior light. "We enjoy our food and the sound of the rain." Jenna quickly opens the brown bag of takeaways and quietly passes you your food and then finally takes out her own. Both of you begin to eat.

"We could've done this at our apartment." You mumble to yourself.

After a few bites in silence she puts the radio on, but the volume is still soft and begins eating again.

"You want a blanket?" You ask after finishing your food.

She nods while chewing.

You take the blanket from the back seat and cover her crossed legs. She then throws a bit of it over your legs as well. You smile in appreciation.

After a few minutes of silence, Jenna opens the passenger door instantly allowing the rain to fall into the car. The heat generated now gone by the gust of wind

"Where are you going? You'll get soaked." You say, leaning towards her open door.

"That's the point y/n." She leans on the car's roof. "You cant be afraid of a little rain." She smirks before closing the door behind her.

Jenna walks towards the front of the car. Her hair already turning wavy and stuck to her face. Her clothes also sticking to her body.

She stares up at the dark and cloudy sky and closes her eyes. She seems at peace.

You put on the car's lights for her, shaking your head with a smile

You put on the car's lights for her, shaking your head with a smile. She was crazy for doing this but you loved seeing her happy and carefree.

Jenna opens her eyes and motions to you to turn the radio up and for you to join her outside.

You laugh refusing to step out into the cold. You aren't in the mood to get sick.

Jenna calls you with her index finger. A serious look in her eye. You shake your head playfully - knowing she's going to do something about the unwanted response.

She quickly runs to your side and opens your door before you could lock it.

"Damn it, Jenna." A blast of cold air hits your side.

"You can't run now." She laughs.

"What do you want?" You whine, all the heat you had disappearing by the second.

"Dance with me for a bit."

"You're crazy..." You shake your head and sigh. You grip the steering wheel holding a laugh. "And I know you won't leave me alone until I do."

"Smart girl." Jenna winks.

You put the radio louder before taking Jenna's cold hand to help you out of the car into the wetness. Y/f/s* plays.

Without hesitation you put on the hoodie over your head.

You grab Jenna's hand and twirl her around. She laughs making you warm from within. Her happiness is infectious. Then you pull her close and place your hand on her back. She rests hers on your shoulder and places the other in your hand.

The two of you begin to dance together. Smiling and laughing at how silly you must look. Faces wet from the rain. Shoes and clothes drenched.

"Oh wait." Jenna stops. "Y/n let's do a dirty dancing lift. It'll be fun!"

"To lift you?" You shake your head. "I don't think my back will agree. And this isn't a lake Jenna. It's the freaking road."

"Just once please. Y/n, I trust you." Jenna starts to walk backwards still keeping her eyes locked on yours. "Ready?" She asks reaching her preferred distance.

You sigh. "No, but go ahead." You make your feet firm and bend your knees slightly.

"1,2,3" Jenna starts to count. She runs towards you. You grip her by the hips as she jumps, but you only manage to lift her a little distance from the ground. "Oh shoot, no no no no."

Feeling how tired your muscles and back are you put her down quickly. "That's it. That's all I got."

"Oof y/n...We almost had it though."

"I don't have that kinda upper body strength. The half lift will have to do." You say stretching your arms and back.

You see lights from a truck on the oncoming lane and as it nears, it hoots.

"At least the driver liked it." You smile, shielding your eyes from its bright light.

As it passes by, a splash of rainwater hits your unexpected body. You and Jenna scream in unison.
Your smiles now washed away by the truck and puddles.

"Are you freaking serious man? You suck!" You scream to the truck as it drives away.

"Seems he wasn't impressed with our performance." Jenna laughs wringing her hair out.

You give her a dirty look. "Just get in the car so we can go home and get clean and dry."

"Nobody puts baby in a corner!" Jenna exclaims with a serious tone.

"Quit messing around." You say opening the car door and getting in.

"That was fun though. You have to admit." Jenna wipes her face and turns to you.

"You and the rain... Now my car seats are soaked and I'm cold to the bone." You complain starting the car up again.

"I'll dry them off. Look, I'll even make you y/f/m for tomorrow while you take a hot shower." Jenna offers placing her hair in a wet bun. "I'll make us hot chocolate. What do you say?"

You check the road before driving off. "I like the sound of that. What a good friend you are."

"I love the rain." She shrugs with a slight smile, but then it turns into a broader one. "But you know I love you more though."

You snicker holding a hand to your mouth. "Sometimes I wonder."
