"Well hi there." You sit upright, resting your book on your lap. "What brings you here?" You smile a little surprised that Jenna's at your door so late in the night.
She leans against the door frame in her pajamas. "Just checking up on you. Didn't know you were still awake."
"Yeah takes a while to fall asleep."
She walks over and sits at the end of your bed.
"How come you're still awake? Everything okay?" You ask her.
"Got a lot on my mind, I guess. Mind if I stay a while." Jenna asks, patting the bed.
"You don't even have to ask." You smile, lifting the blankets up next to you. "Climb in."
She eagerly climbs into bed and covers herself with the covers.
"How's filming?" You ask after she settles in.
"Quite the challenge." She sighs resting her head on your shoulder. "I didn't expect such a sacrifice, you know. Sometimes it's hard. The early hours and late nights."
"I can only imagine. It must be pretty overwhelming." You feel bad of how exhausted she must be and all the stress she has. You rest your hand on hers, but instead she interlocks it.
"If you want, we can just stay in tomorrow. Have a chilled day watch a movie?" You suggest.
Jenna finally had a few days off from filming Wednesday and decided to spend two days with you.
"You sure?" She lifts her head up to meet your eyes. "I would love that."
"Anything for you, my hardworking friend." You place a hand on her cheek and rub it with your thumb. She gives you a grateful smile.
She rests her head on your shoulder again. "How's the cello lessons going?" You ask.
"To be honest, I sucked at first, but it's really coming along." She giggles. "Fencing looks a lot more promising."
"I heard you doing most of your stunts. You feel like hurting yourself unnecessary?" You ask. You can't help but be concerned about her safety.
"You know I love to give my all. The bruises are my badges of honour." She says.
"You crazy girl." You shake your head. To willingly hurt yourself for the sake of television is something you would never understand.
You think of how hard she's been working and how much she puts into perfecting her craft.
She was on her a way to become a household name.
"I'm proud of you either way." You admit.
"Love you." Jenna responds.
"Love you more." You kiss her head, before switching off your reading light. "Get some rest. We'll talk tomorrow."
You climb deeper into bed facing Jenna.
"Just know, I always sleep better when I'm with you." She whispers in the dark.
"Likewise." You whisper, closing your eyes. "Finally, the two insomniacs found a solution to their problem."
"But I'll have to leave again for work soon." Jenna admits, you can hear the disappointment in her voice.
"Shh, don't think so far ahead. Let's just live in the present." You respond.
"I can do that." Jenna giggles. She kisses your forehead. "Goodnight, y/n."
"Night." You yawn ready to fall asleep.
