A crash of books on the floor motive you to jog to the furthest side of the library.

You see a dark-haired girl struggling to pick up the mess and mumbling to herself.

"It's alright." You immediately bend down and begin to close and pick up the fallen books.

"I'm really sorry about this." She apologies and then turns to you. She's probably analysing if you're revealing any irritation or frustration. But all she's getting is a small smile.

"Happens more often than you think." You stand up with your pile and she does the same.

You place them back on the shelf and she hands hers to you as well.

"Do you need some help?" You ask, holding a laugh. You find her to be adorable being so embarrassed.

"It seems that way." She rests a hand on her forehead showing a shy smile. "Yeah, sure that would be nice. Thanks."

"Which one do you want?" You ask gesturing to the shelves.

"The hardcover one." She points to a leather book. "If this isn't embarrassing... being this short."

"Don't stress about it." You reach up on your toes to grab the book. "I find short people adorable."

"Comforting." She says sarcastically. You immediately smile.

"Here you are." You hold the book in your hand and read the title of the book. Y/f/b. You didn't even know the library has a copy of it.

"You know it?" The girl asks.

"It's actually one of my favourites. It's a really good book." You say handing it to her "Could be bias, but I highly recommend it."

"I'll have to check it out then. Thank you for the recommend..." She smiles awaiting your name.

"Y/n." You introduce yourself. "And you are?"

"Jenna."

"Nice to meet you Jenna. Do you come around here often? I don't think I've seen you before." You start a small conversation, not really wanting her to leave just yet.

"Not as often as I would like to." She adjusts her tote bag. "Studies keep me busy. But fortunately, I'm on vacation at the moment so I'm taking advantage."

"What are you studying?" You ask.

"Medicine."

"Fancy." You rise a brow as a tease.

"Don't. Don't do that." She shakes her head. "It's just a normal career choice where I help the sick."

"I admire you for that though." The more you talk to Jenna you seem to like her even more.

"Most people are just in it for the money. No love for the people." You look at her eyes and see how genuine she is. "I wish you all the best with that."

"Thanks," she exhales. "I'm gonna need it." She starts to walk slowly in the direction of the counter "What do you do?"

"I actually work here..." You follow in her pace.

"You do? I haven't seen you around."

"Just something to add to the studies. I'm studying y/d."

"Ooh fancy." She teases.

"No- I see what you mean." You giggle. Realization what you did to her earlier. "Well since I gave you a recommendation I think it's only fair you do the same for me."

"Okay y/n... I have one for you, but the problem is I have never seen it in the library before."

You raise a brow. "So you have your own copy?"

"Precisely. I can lend it to you if you want."

"That would be great. How nice of you. Do you have it on you?" You ask, quite elated.

"No, but I'll give it to you at the café a few blocks down." She gives you a smirk.

"Read it and drink it?" You ask. You actually feel excited that she's willing to see you again.

"That's the one. So I'll get this checked out" - she lifts the book slightly- "and I'll see you there tomorrow afternoon when you're free."

"2pm work for you?" You ask, making sure she's gonna be there.

"That works. See you then." She smiles before heading to the counter.

Before you know it, a customer already needs your assistance elsewhere, making you delay thinking about your adorable and clumsy new acquaintance.
