"Hi," You greet the girl, listening to music on a bench. She takes off her headphones. "I just wanted to come over and give you these." You hand her the bouquet of pink roses.

"Oh my gosh..." Her eyebrows frown with a confused smile. "Why though?

"Because I just felt the need to be kind today and hopefully put a smile on someone's face." You smile back.

"Well you definitely achieved that." She says, looking at the flowers with gratitude in her eyes. "Thank you. They're lovely."

"I'm glad you like them. Have a good day further." You say, stepping back feeling raindrops fall on you. She waves and you make your way over the road again.

It suddenly begins to pour. You gasp, cold and wet from the rain. No umbrella and no raincoat, only a hoodie. You look around for shelter.

"Hey you, wait!" You turn to the voice. It's the flower girl. "I have an umbrella!" She shows you her open black umbrella.

She crosses the road to you.

"It's yours I can't just-" you refuse.

"No," she interjects. "We can share. I mean you did give me free flowers. We're past strangers."

"Thank you." You stand closer to her under the shelter of the umbrella shivering a little. "But we can't stand here all day. If you don't mind... can we walk over to that café over there." You point down the street.

"Let's go." She says and you walk together.

You guys finally enter the cafe, the warmth welcoming.

"You know what," She closes her dripping wet umbrella and passes you her bouquet. "Let me get us something to drink while you get us a seat. And don't argue."

You hold in a laugh as you were about to refuse.

You find a booth for the two of you, close to the window. The rain still pouring on the street. You put her bouquet on the table.

"Here's your drink." The girl passes you a takeaway cup. You can already smell that it's hot chocolate. "I didn't know what to get you or what you liked..."

"Thank you." You say, your brows furrowing. "Why are you doing this?"

"It's raining and because I just felt the need to be kind today and hopefully put a smile on someone's face." She shrugs

You smile at the response you gave her earlier.

"You managed to do it." You took a sip of the warm drink. "I'm y/n by the way."

"Jenna." She takes a sip of hers as well. "Have I seen you before?"

"We go to the same college." You admit. "I've seen you around, but never spoke to you."

"Interesting, but I'm glad you finally came over." She swirls her cup. "What just happened seemed right out of a romcom or something."

You laugh. "Right? Me handing you roses, sharing umbrellas and now we're having drinks."

"And then we'll depart never to meet again." She adds looking at her drink.

"It doesn't have to be that way"- you feel yourself losing confidence.- "Unless...you want it to."

Jenna takes another sip from her drink. "You like Valentine's Day? Is that why you hand out flowers to random people?"

"I'm not a Valentine's fan, but I want everyone to feel some sort of love even if it's not romantic." You answer.

"And what number was I today to receive flowers?" She asks with a smirk.

"The only." You answer truthfully. "I saw you sitting alone and you looked a little sad. I picked you."

You catch Jenna's eyes fall on the bouquet before looking at you again.

"Well, I'm not a Valentine's Day fan too. My boyfriend broke up with me a few days ago so I'm not in the mood to celebrate."

"Did he used to go all out on Valentine's Day?" You ask quite curious.

"Never. He didn't believe in it." She shook her head.

"And it bothered you right?"

"Of course it did. But when you love someone, you let certain things slide."

"I'm sorry you had to go through that. I would've treated you so much better especially today. Sorry." You admit, eyes widening at you revealing your thoughts.

"Really?" She seems intrigued. "What would you have done? If you had one day with me, what would you have done?"

"Why tell you when I could show you? Do you have any plans tomorrow?" You ask, not knowing where your boldness was coming from.

"Nothing. Why?"

"Why don't we date each other for the day. "

"Like be each others Valentine's?" She asks with a confused smile.

"Exactly. But Galentine's instead."

She ponders for bit. "It's crazy, but it wouldn't hurt to try."

"First things first," you clear your throat. "Would you be my Galentine, Jenna?"

She giggles behind her hand. "I accept."

"Good." You answer with a smirk. "I look forward to what you have planned for us." You lift your cup for her to knock hers into.

"Ditto." She giggles, you two cheers with your cups before you both take a sip.
