You take a sip of water as you scroll through your social media like you usually do every work lunch time.

"Sorry" a nervous voice announces, causing you to look up.

You see that it's a pretty girl standing in front of you.

"Hey, yes?" You respond trying to be friendly.

"It's quite full at the other tables...mind if I sit here?" She gestures to the empty chair across from you. You notice the bag of y/f/t/p she's holding in her hand.

"Not at all." You give her a polite smile. She gives a sigh of relief with a smile and makes herself comfortable.

"Only if you share some of your fries with me." The girl immediately stops moving and meets your eyes nervously.

"I'm joking." You laugh.

She giggles as she continues to make herself comfortable."But, I don't mind. You can take a few." She opens the bag and you smell the addictive smell of French fries. She takes the box out and places it on a napkin on the table. "They're nice and hot."

She removes her jacket and throws it over her chair, revealing a button-up shirt and tie. She grabs a fry and gestures for you to take one.

"Thank you so much. That's so nice of you." You say before taking a bit of the hot fry.

The two of you sit in silence for a while. You continue to browse through your social media and the stranger continues to eat and read a book.

"I've been craving some fries," the stranger speaks up. "And I finally got some, but I think I bought them with my eyes rather than my stomach." She admits rubbing her stomach.

"Understandable." You give her a smile smile, holding a laugh.

"You can finish the rest if you like." She offers, a little shy.

"Thanks." You bring the box closer to you and grab two lukewarm fries. "Whenever you have fries you can't finish, you know where to find me." You give her a wink, which makes her giggle.

"Well then," she begins to clean her hands with a napkin. "If I'm gonna do that, I at least need to know your name."

"Y/n." You say, going in for another fry.

"Jenna." She answers. "Nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you." You respond before taking a sip of water. "You work in the mall?"

"Yeah, I'm a waitress at y/f/r."

"Serious? How come I've never seen you there before." You ask.

"You're a regular?" Jenna's brows lift in intrigue.

"When it's payday." You admit. "And... Why are you eating fries from another restaurant. You traitor!" You joke.

"C'mon, just because I work there doesn't mean I always have to eat there." She takes a sip of her soda.

"True." You smirk. "But you're gonna have to pay me with more fries to keep your secret."

Jenna's mouth widens in shock. "What ever happened to just being a nice person?" She jokes.

"I'm kidding." You laugh, popping more fries in your mouth. "Did you start recently?

"Yes, a week ago. I'm studying online as well." She answers, resting her chin on her hand.

"Well all the best. That's quite a lot to handle."

"Yeah, but it gets me some money. That's always needed and appreciated." She states. She leans more closer to you. "Enough about me. Where do you work?"

"Y/w/n. For a year now." You say throwing the empty fry box into the packet.

"Alright cool. Our work places are not too far apart." Jenna states excitedly.

"At least we can find each other at lunch?" You say, hoping she'd agree.

"Yes, I'd like that very much." Jenna gives you a beautiful smile before opening her book once more.

"Good to know." You check the time  before you begin to gather your things before standing up. "I'm gonna be late to work if I don't go now, but it was nice meeting you, Jenna."

"Ditto. Maybe we'll bump into each other soon." Jenna says.

"I hope so because those fries were good." You smile, leaving her laughing before heading back to work.

Some days the two of you would be lucky enough to share the same lunch times and other times you won't even see each other at all.
But when you are together it's aways so fun and refreshing compared to the customers you have to deal with.

But the one day, you manage to find her sitting in the food court. "Thought I'd find you here." You rest a hand on Jenna's shoulder. "I'm in the mood for some dessert."

"So you're not joining me today?" Jenna pouts slightly.

"No, but I wanted to know if you'd like to join me for some cake?" You ask.

"Ooh that sounds lovely." Her smile falters quickly. "But I don't have money for that."

"Did I mention money? You shared your fries with me, I'm sharing my cake with you."

"Then I'm in." Her smile returns even bigger.

You help carry one of her bags as she gets ready to walk with you. "Then let's go before our lunches are over."

"Then lead the way, I have so many stories to tell you."
