~Alex~

"Alex! Alex come on, you have to wake up!"

I breathed heavily as I was shaken awake, panic settling into me.

"What is it? What's wrong?" I mumbled, looking around the room with tired eyes.

"We're under attack. We need to get to the escape pods. Frigga's already there with your daughter." Sif said, anxiously looking out the door while Eir gathered medical supplies.

"Under attack? By who? Where's Loki?"

"We don't know yet. Loki's with Thor and Heimdall checking it out with some of the warriors."

Sif quickly led Eir and me to the back of the ship, the three of us being lucky in that we didn't have to search for Frigga long.

"Frigga!" I yelled as soon as I saw her by one of the pods.

"Alex! Oh, thank Norns you're still alright. Come now, we must get into the pod." She urged, handing Frig over to me.

"What about the others, what about Loki?" I asked as Sif practically pushed me into the pod, shutting the door as soon as there was no more room.

"Loki and Thor both have their powers and magic. I'm... I'm sure they'll be okay." Frigga nodded, though it sounded like she was trying to convince herself just as much as she was trying to convince me.

"Did anyone even see who they were up against?" I asked, grunting a bit as the pod took off.

"All I saw was some giant-looking grape." Sif huffed as she sat down.

"Wait wait wait, you mean he was a giant purple man? Did he have a gold gauntlet?" I sat up, eyes going wide.

"Yes... how did you know that?"

"That was Thanos. The guy that tortured Loki, I have to get to him-"

"You are not going anywhere!" Frigga yelled, pushing me down in my seat before I could even leave it. "You're daughter needs you right now. And you've only just given birth a couple of hours ago, you are in no position to fight!"

"But..." I looked around the pod, everyone's eyes on me or the ship behind us that seemed to be catching fire. "I can't just leave him to face his captor."

"No, you're leaving him to protect your daughter." Sif corrected me. "That is just as honorable as going to help fight. You hold the future of Asgard's rule in your hands right now. You must protect her."

"And you can't do that when you run head-first into battle," Frigga added.

I sighed in frustration as I sat back in my seat, closing my eyes.

"Alex, don't you dare-"

Frigga's voice was quickly drowned out, being replaced with a man monologing in front of Loki while a group surrounded him.

"I know what it's like to lose." The man in gold armor turned around. "To feel so desperately that you're right, yet to fail, nonetheless."

I suppressed a gasp as the giant easily picked Thor up by his chest plate, walking him closer to where Loki stood.

"It's frightening. Turns the legs to jelly. But I ask you, to what end? Dread it, run from it, destiny arrives all the same. And now, it's here. Or should I say, I am." The grape held up his covered fist, revealing a glowing purple gem on the first knuckle.

"You talk too much." Thor choked out, his head now in the monster's hand.

"The Tesseract. Or your brother's head. I assume you have a preference."
