AT this moment I felt like I could've lived my whole life without knowing that information.

It sometimes felt like leaving without explanation was better than knowing the truth sometimes.

Laken was going to be at school for the last game this week, but then he was leaving after it. It was a bargain that took a long time to set with his parents.

His house was pretty much empty at this point.

I sat at the kitchen island, sitting in the barstool while looking at the homework I hadn't completed. I rested my cheek in my hand, using my other hand to tap the pencil against the counter.

Thinking of my homework, Isaac really needed to do his share.

I kissed him and I still haven't went to more than two tutoring sessions from the time being.

I was resting at a 68.

The recent test she gave us were even harder. The open note quizzes didn't help shit.

"Why are you so sad, Acey?" My mom was tying her hair into a ponytail. She was in the kitchen, up early because she had to pick up a shift. "You look like how I did when I found out I was pregnant with KT."

Kade sucked his teeth, tilting his head at my mom. "Imagine if I was suicidal."

He sat beside me, sitting at the kitchen counter. We had school in about fifteen minutes.

I didn't even feel like driving.

"I'm kidding, KT," She smiled walking over to him and hugging him, kissing his cheek as he leaned away. "You know you're my favorite son."

"I'm your only son."

"Exactly." She walked away from him, taking her phone out her pocket to check her phone. "By the way, we're going to your grandma's house for Thanksgiving. But, we're going to the airport to pick up your dad a few days before."

She smiled saying the last part, her hazel eyes smiling themselves. "I'm excited to see him."

Our grandma on our dad's side lives in Palo Alto. It was so far away.

Although the drive would be hell sitting in the backseat with my brother, it would be worth it seeing all of my relatives.

I hadn't seen them since the year before last.

"The fact that you stayed loyal to a guy who's in the army is beyond me," Kade let out a breath, using his fork to cut a piece of his waffles.

"The fact that you can't find a girl to stay loyal to you is beyond me," She raised her brows before walking to the refrigerator.

"Actually," Kade lifted his fork up with a piece of a waffle on it, holding on to a good piece of information. "I do have a girlfriend."

"How many love spells did you do?" Our mom gave a fake surprised face.

"You're a terrible person."

She placed her fingertips to her lips, blowing him a kiss.

Kade rolled his eyes. "Anyways, her name is Camila. You need to meet her."

"Wait," My mom thought for a moment. "What's her last name? I need to know if I had a problem with her mom in high school."

"You had a problem with everyone in high school." Kade said impassively.

"Not a people person," My mom shrugged.

"Asra acts just like you," KT gave a fake smile before glancing to me. "I see why you have no friends." He mumbled the last part, but he did it loud enough so he knew I could hear him.
