Jack POV:
As we finished up, I brushed my lips against hers again, catching my breath. I smiled, staring into her gorgeous eyes. She slowly put one hand on my jawline. "You're trembling, " she observed with concern. "Don't worry about me... I'll be alright," I reassured her, giving her another kiss. She then stroked my hair, pushing it up before kissing my forehead. I slowly rested my head on her chest and she held me tight. We laid like this, cuddling for a while as she stroked my hair, kissing my head every now and then. We heard some commotion and immediately shot up. I threw on my clothes as fast as I could and then helped Rose zip her dress back up. Afterward, we ran to the upper deck, not before we saw the shock and confusion on their faces when they opened up the carriage to find nobody there.
Once we were up on deck, we were laughing uncontrollably and it seemed to be the first time I had ever heard her real laugh. It was adorable. "Did you see their faces? Did you seem them?" I said, still laughing. She placed two fingers to my mouth gently. "When the ship docks, I'm getting off with you," she said. Those words meant the world to me. Was she really willing to give up a perfect rich life and be poor just to be with me? I never thought anyone would ever do such a thing for me. "This is crazy," I admitted, struggling to believe her words. She laughed. "I know! It doesn't make any sense! That's why I trust it." She replied, smiling at me. I didn't think it was possible to fall so madly in love with someone in just a few days... but I had. And it was amazing.
I leaned in for a kiss and she kept it going. We kissed for a long time until we were suddenly interrupted by a shudder, shaking the ship. She grabbed onto me tight, fearful for what could've been happening. As I held onto her, we noticed the ship pass a massive iceberg. Could the ship have had a collision? I noticed huge blocks of ice shatter onto the ship and yelled for Rose to get behind me incase they hit her. We both leaned over the ledge of the open airway, trying to see if the ship had been impacted. We couldn't detect any damages but we were just passengers, there was no way to tell for sure if it was damaged or not.
I didn't want Rose to fear so I reassured her. "It didn't seem like too much of a bump. I think we're alright," I said. As I continued to look over the ledge, i felt something freezing run down my back. I turned around and yelped, realising Rose slipped a small piece of ice down the back of my shirt. She seemed to find it funny so I picked her up and pretended to throw her. "Thats it, you're going overboard!" I put her down as we laughed and kissed again.
Captain Smith POV:
I walked up to deck after having heard and felt a rather violent shudder. I walked over to Mr Murdoch. "What was that, Mr Murdoch?" I asked, demanding to know if something had happened to my ship. "An iceberg, sir," he replied, as if scared to confess. I felt a look of alarm on my face. "I put her hard to starboard and ran the engines full astern. I tried to port around it but she hit and-" On hearing this, I was even more alarmed. I cut him off, commanding the watertight doors to be closed. I tried looking over the ledge to see if I could detect any damage. I noticed shattered ice on the deck and demanded for the carpenter to sound the ship.
Fabrizio POV:
I jumped down from bed and cursed in Italian at the water flooding the floor below me. My roommates and I all ran out into the corridor where we saw Tommy. "Come on, let's get the hell out of here!" He exclaimed and I followed him. Was the ship really sinking?
Thomas Andrews POV:
I grabbed a blueprint and made my way along the corridor after feeling a violent shudder that caused my glass that was sitting on my desk in my office to shake as well as my chandelier. I walked past a woman in first class asking about the shudder as a crewman lied to her in order to avoid a panic. I made my way to the deck, talking to crewmen about the damage along the way.
Rose POV:
Jack and I saw Mr Andrews talking to several crewmen about them ship. We overheard them mentioning damage and I got a worried feeling to my stomach. "This is bad," Jack admitted turning to face me. He must have seen the worried look on my face because he squeezed my hand gently and pulled me in. "It'll be alright though," he reassured. I held onto him, my face up against his chest. "We should tell mother and Cal," I muttered. Cal was the last person I cared for but h3 deserved to know that the ship may sink. And even though Mother could be a ruthless person at times, she was still my mother.
Jack POV:
As Rose and I made our way back to her suite, I couldn't help but worry at what might happen. She told me to keep hold of her hand and squeezed mine tight. We slowly walked into the room, Lovejoy walking beside us. As we entered, we saw Cal and Ruth waiting for us, along with a group of ship officers. Still holding my hand, she grabbed the same hand with her other. "Something serious has happened," she began. Cal glared at us. "Yes it has. Two things dear to me have disappeared this evening. Now that one is back, I have a pretty good idea where to find the other. Search him!" Rose is pushed away from me and my jacket is removed as I am searched. I felt relaxed because I knew I had done nothing wrong so I allowed them to search me. "Cal, what are you doing? We're in the middle of an emergency, what's going on?" Rose demanded
They reached into my jacket pocket and pulled something out. Rose's diamond necklace. I was shocked and confused as to how it was in my pocket. I put it back in the safe. I would never ever steal from Rose. I loved her. And I didn't need to steal from the rich to be satisfied, I was perfectly content being poor. It may be hard but it was manageable. I liked earning things for myself. "This is horseshit!!" I protested as Rose stared at me with shocked eyes. "Don't you believe it, Rose! Don't," I told her, praying she would believe me. She had to. "He couldn't have," she argued. "Course he could. It's easy enough for a professional," Cal fought. But I wasn't a professional. I had never stolen in my life, I would never do that.
"But I was with him the whole time, this is absurd," she responded, fighting for my side. Cal leaned over to Rose and I heard him whisper, "Perhaps he did it while you were putting your clothes back on, dear." I froze and so did she. He found the drawing. I realised what must have happened. I was being framed. "Real slick one, Rose, they put it in my pocket!" I was silenced by Cal as Lovejoy inspected my jacket. "It isn't even your pocket, is it, son? Property of AL Ryerson". The chief officer handcuffing me grabbed the jacket and confirmed it had been reported stolen. Yes, that I did take but only so I could get a chance to talk to Rose without being noticed. I had no intention of keeping it.
I saw Rose's face fall as she gave a look of feeling betrayed. Did she actually believe I did this? I understood that it very much looked like I was guilty but I thought she trusted me? She told me she trusted me. I slowly realised she had every right to not believe me. It would've seemed like I was guilty to anyone, no matter how long they knew me or how much they trusted me. "I just borrowed it, I was gonna return it!" I argued as Cal evilly laughed. "An honest thief, we have an honest thief here." I wanted to punch him so badly and if I wasn't handcuffed I would've. "You know I didn't do this, Rose! You know it! Dont you believe them, Rose, you know I didn't do this, Rose. Rose! YOU KNOW I DIDNT DO IT!! YOU KNOW ME!!!" I screamed as I was dragged away for a crime I didn't commit. I knew Cal was going to hurt her. And it hurt me that I was entirely unable to protect her from it.
Thomas Andrews POV:
I met several crewmen, Captain Smith and Bruce Ismay and I laid the blueprint of the ship out on the desk to explain how the ship would sink. "Water 14 feet about the keel in 10 minutes, in the forepeak, in all threeholds and in boiler room 6," I explained to the group. Mr Ismay rolled his eyes before speaking. "When can we get underway damn it?" He demanded. I looked at him with disgust. "That's 5 compartments! She can stay afloat with the first 4 compartments breached but not 5. Not 5... As she goes down by the head, water will spill over the top of the bulkheads at E Deck, from one to the next, back and back. Theres no stopping it." Captain Smith pointed to the pumps on the blueprint and suggested them. "The pumps by you time but minutes only. From this moment, no matter what we do, Titanic will founder," I said, saddened by the thought of my brilliant masterpiece wrecking. "But the ship can't sink!" Mr Ismay protested, reminding me that it was supposed to be unsinkable. "She's made of iron, sir. I assure you, she can. And she will. It is a mathematical certainty," I responded. Smith looked down at the blueprint and back up at me. "How much time?" He asked and I thought for a moment before responding. "An hour. Two at most." Smith then placed his eyes on William Murdoch. "And how many aboard, Mr Murdoch?" Murdoch took a deep breath and closed his eyes. "2,200 souls aboard, sir." Smith's eyes widened with alarm. We all knew there was no possibile way for everyone to survive. "Well, I do believe you will get your headlines, Mr Ismay."
