Ch 28 How to be Brave

LEO

I wanted to be the best brother to Randy even though he is not my brother but he feels like one. I love him like one he is almost 4 and he's getting so big.
I've decided I had to be a role model and let Gabe give a checkup to see it's not scary.

Randy does not know about Gabe being a dentist or Connor being a doctor, who knows I may need a physical to be a role model again.

That afternoon..

"Alrighty boys you ready?" Connor says
"I guess" I say
"Yea!" Randy says not knowing what's going to happen.
We go to the office, and Gabe was standing by the main doors smiling and making goofy faces

Randy laughs at him.
I hope Gabe is in a good mood.
Hopefully he will be good to me. I really didn't like the way he treated me last time.

We go inside
"Alright let's head on back" Gabe smiles
I roll my eyes
He was just trying to be nice because Randy was here. His first checkup but I'm the Guinea pig to show Randy how to be Brave
We get to the room and sit in the chair. Not wanted to do so.
"Wow" Gabe laughs
I give him the look.
He places a bib on me.
Randy was staring at me.

Gabe takes X-rays real quick. And hand everyone stand out of the room.
Randy didn't like the giant jacket thing or anything.
He finishes then pulls up the x-rays.
"Okay.." Gabe's says then snaps on gloves and mask and reclines the chair and positions the chair.
At least Connor was here this time.
Randy glitched to the gloves snapping and the mask scared him a bit
"Now let's have the tooth doctor look inside your mouth say ahh" Gabe says
I roll my eyes again he never acts this childish
I open
I let him do the exam.
Izzy came in and cleans my teeth
Finally the chair returns to the normal state
Then I hopped out the chair. Have removed his gloves.
"Okie.. so.. Randy do u think you can be brave for me" Gabe asks

RANDY

I stared. I was scared it didn't look fun.
"No." I say
"Please.." Gabe begs
I stayed next to Leo.
"You can do it Randy I did it I'm usually a chicken.. bawk bawk" Leo says
I giggle
Gabe relaxes knowing it's gonna be a while.
I'm not ready.
I looked at all the pointy things they look they will hurt me.
"I'll get you the biggest milkshake..." Gabe begs
I smile
"I want one.."I whine
"Come sit.." he says now slowly convincing me.
I slowly get up and got into the dentist chair
My heart was racing.
Gave gently puts the bib on me.
"I'm not gonna do the big jacket I'm just gonna take a look okay?" Gabe's says and reclines the chair.
"Ok.." I mumble he puts on gloves and put on a mask
"Say ahh" Gabe's says now stating directly at me.
It feels so uncomfortable
I let a tear shed and open for him.
"Why are you crying" Gabe asks me
and starts.
"I'm scared" I say
"I know I know it will be over very soon" Gabe says
He uses a few tools they did not hurt me.

"Can I have Izzy brush your teeth?" Gabe says
"Will it hurt?" I say
Izzy walks in.
"Not at all." Izzy says in a calming and soothing voice
Gabe pitches his gloves and mask and Izzy takes
His spot
I now had another person now looking my mouth and doing something
"What kind of toothpaste sweetheart" Izzy asks
"Bubblegum" i say
"Good choice" she says
She brushes my teeth then finally I was done
And I was able to get up and ran and hugged Leo.
Gave was smiling
"Good job Randy!" Gabe exclaims and pulled him in for a hug.
I laugh
"That wiggly tooth how loose is it?" Gabe asks
I play with it and it pops out.
"Oh crap.." Gabe's says and picks it up.
I giggle
"Was" I say
Gabe laughs then puts a piece of gauze in my moth and told me to bite down.

It was a front tooth.

"Soo Leo can I talk to you?" Gabe's says

LEO

"About?" I say in a passive aggressive way
My mood just flipped when Gabe talks to me.

"Your gonna be mad.." Gabe says

"What is it just tell me" I say

"You have a cavity.." he says and looks down

Guilt was plastered on my face and I looked down in shame and the color drained from my face.
"But aren't they supposed to hurt?" I say still not making eye contact with him.
"It depends" Gabe says

"Great.. well I'm not brave.." I say

Connor got Randy out of the room before they was an argument.
"Yea you are I believe in you" Gabe says and puts his hand on my shoulder.
I stay silent but all of a sudden I couldn't catch my breath and starting coughing
"Oh shit..CONNOR" Gabe yells

My first asthma attack.
