BaylynMarriage?
"Excuse me?"
"You heard that right, Baylyn. You have to get married to me.You have until tomorrow to decide,or else your best friend won't see another day."
"It doesn't make any sense.I have a boyfriend. And I don't even know you. I don't even know what you name is for goodness sake. Is marriage just a joke to you?"
"I don't give a shit about anything you said.Only thing though is that say your goodbyes to your boyfriend tonight because if I ever see him near you again,I will fuckin put a hole into his head. My men will pick you up tomorrow at 2pm. Better have your answer by then or else I won't have a choice but to end your little friend's dear life.
Adios baby."What the fuck was going on?
In only a few hours my life would change irrespective of the decision I made.
How was marrying me of any use to him?I am neither a drug Lord or leader of a Mafia, later on a member.
Nothing of this made sense.
How was i going to explain all this to Aidan? I can't even tell him anything for the sake of his life.
It wasn't time to think about myself.
My best friend's life was in danger and I had to save her.
I knew what I had to do.
"Hey, Aidan.We need to talk."
"I will be there soon."
Like always,he figured out something was surely wrong. That is why he arrived in twenty minutes.
God!I hated what I was about to do.
🕊️. 🕊️. 🕊️.
I had spent the whole night crying.
Party because of my whole break up with Aidan and partly cause I had made up my decision.
Aidan didn't take the break up too well because he suspected something was shady but he had promised to keep the friendship going.
I was grateful for that.
Losing Aidan would bring me much more pain than I was already facing.
Time flew by too quickly as 2pm soon arrived.
A black SUV was packed Infront of my building and two men dressed in black stood outside the car.
I was holding onto my final moments of freedom and peace as I walked slowly into the car.
The men didn't say anything but only just opened the back door of the car for me and closed it when I got in.
They took their seats at the front and drove off immediately.
"Phone ma'am?"
One of the men outstretched his hand for me to put my phone."Huh?"
"Your phone!!"
I reluctantly gave my phone to him and saw as he tossed it out as we passed by a small stream.
It took us another hour before we drove through huge gates that housed an estate.
This was more of a piece of paradise than I had expected.
The driveway ran long with ponds on either side. Tall trees stood tall on either side and formed canopies that created a roof for the driveway.
There was more green than anyone would expect from a Don's home.
What stood out though was that the whole place was protected by bulky men with guns.
It seemed like forever when we finally pulled up Infront of a huge mansion.
When I say huge,I mean huge.
The compound had beautiful fountains that flowed flawlessly.
Lion sculptures sat on either side of the walkthrough that led to the house.Along with the lion sculptures stood guards spread out on either side at different parts of the estate.
All of them were dressed in black and had earpieces.
I was led inside the mansion through the large heavy doors.Again,on either side of the door stood guards. They were everywhere to be precise
The interior was beautiful.
The expanse of the foyer opened up to an imperial staircase that led to what I guessed were other rooms of the house. It had black floral balustrades and a black carpet that ran all the way down on either side of the stairs.
There wasn't much decoration or plant life in the mansion save for a few paintings on the wall and empty flower pots that looked very expensive.
I was led upstairs to meet with the person I was here to meet.
I silently prayed for him to have a change of heart before I was ushered into the dark office.
