POV: 3rd Person

  North is in love.

He doesn't understand how he came up with that conclusion when he first felt it. But the way the new transfer student looks at him, his heart beats. Except.. North doesn't know what to do to get his attention. It's already been a month since he came, and they haven't spoken to each other at all.

So North sits in Science class, making a paper airplane, not even paying attention to the lesson as he'd always got people to do it for him - it wasn't like he was stupid either, he always passed the tests all on his own. He throws it at the back of Night's head and turns around. North only raises his eyebrow with a smirk.

The boy rolls his eyes before turning back, North crumpling more paper and throwing it at the back of his head until- "What do you want, a**hole?!" the class goes silent and the furious yell sends shivers down North's back. He keeps his face calm, looking around and pointing at himself as if he didn't know Night was talking about him.

Night is given detention, a punishment of sweeping after school, and North joins him because he was dared by Mark to prank a teacher. He couldn't help but laugh when a bucket of water fell on their head and was given detention.

North is lying on a desk, making Night do all the work and cleaning the classrooms, he stares at Night but when he looks back at him, he quickly turns his head and his face heats up, the younger male speaks up after he looks at him for the 5th time, "What? If you're going to stare at me, at least come and help me and stare."

"I'm- who said I'm s-staring?!" His voice goes high from trying to lie, his ears turning red. He's able to get away with things by not saying anything and staying silent, but when he had to speak, it shows.

"Yeah, right, your face is all red." At this, North crumples up another piece of paper on the ground and throws it at Night, who dodged it and threw it into the trash bin. He inwardly smiles when he turns away from North's view, finding him adorable. But he'd been curious, so he asks, "Why do you keep throwing things at me lately?"

  "W-what?"

"Why do you keep throwing things at me?" He turns around, and North could swear those eyes are piercing into his face, boring holes into them, and he shivers, sitting up crisscross on the desk, placing his hands in the middle. Night almost broke out into a smile seeing how childish he looks, his big round deer-like eyes staring back at his fox-like ones.

"Uh.." He grabs a pen and writes it down on paper, before crumbling it again and throwing it at Night, who catches it with ease, opening up the note.

Do you want to be my friend?

North had thought first before he wrote the last word, but thought against what he really wanted because well - shouldn't they be friends first before North says anything else and confesses? They kind of just started talking to each other anyway.

"You could've told me this instead of throwing things at me."

North only looks away, down to his lap, as his ears burned red.

"Sure, I'll be your friend." Night smiled at him when he snaps his head up to look at him, he fiddles with the hem of his shorts and shyly smiles back.

Night knows by now that North has a crush on him, it was so painfully obvious to the point where he's kind of going mad because why can't North just say something to him? He wants to say something, to tell North that it's okay because he's also completely in love with the taller, it's not like he's just waiting and doing nothing - he's been making moves as well.

But North might be too oblivious or is too nervous to realize, and if he did know, he was probably overthinking about it all. Night has been contemplating, however. Contemplating on whether he should be the one to make the first move or not.

It seems like it'd happen any day with how much North has been squirming around him lately, spacing out in thought but he doesn't really understand it. Hasn't he been showing enough signs?

"Who are you dressing so nice for?" Night raises an eyebrow as a smirk is drawn on his face, slightly hoping it was for him. They were in North's house, in his big room that was almost the same size as Night's first floor.

"I'm going on a date to the movies today-"

That was all Night heard before it seemed like the world went silent around him, his thoughts screaming and his heart cracking- had he been reading this all wrong? Has he been the only one to fall for North?

Night doesn't have the patience to wait until he comes back to ask him who he's going with or what their relationship was. He grabs North by the wrist before he could walk too far for him to do so, spinning him around and crashing their lips together as if he was possessed.

North lets out a squeak, opting the shorter to grip his hips even tighter. Pulling away after a bit when North kisses him back, they both panted, the taller looking away as his face burned. "You coward, I waited for you to say anything to me- but you never did."

  "S-say what?"

  "That you like me!"

  "You knew?"

"Of course I did- it was so clear.. I didn't think I'd fall for you back but- it was impossible not to. Now you're going to the movies with- who?" Night finally realizes that he hadn't been listening to anything.

"I'm going with Mark and our friend group!-"

  "Oh."

  "You idiot!"

  "Well, at least we confessed?"

"... I guess it wasn't all bad, then."

"Would you have ever told me?"

  "Well- at some point?"

Night lets out an exasperated sigh before flopping back onto the bed behind him, "Whatever, have fun."

"I'll come back!" North bends over him and plants a quick peck on his lips before giggling and running out, leaving a stunned Night behind.
