POV: 3rd Person
Huasheng, just like his father, was also an enigma. And what was more, was that he had been chasing the person he had a crush on - and had known since they were both three-ish years old. Though they are the same age, his crush was holder than him by just a little bit more.
Ah.. that's right. People might have been able to guess by now - just like his parents and his crush' parents.. it was Gao Lele.
Yes, that cute little S-Alpha who had the brightest smile in the world, and basically had hung the stars for him. Huasheng knows this isn't just infatuation, it was love. A pure type of love that can't be broken, he, as a 16-year-old, had already set his sights on Lele years ago. But had mistaken it for a feeling of friendship, due to their long-time standing as friends. They've known each other for a long time.
Since that day at the amusement park, in the car, where they had finally become friends. They continued to hang out as their parents were close, too. Father is best friends with God-Father Wenlang, who, of course, is Lele's father.
Though Wenlang was the S-Alpha, Huasheng had a sneaking suspicion that he was also somewhat like papa's position as an S-Alpha, too. Only, Lele's papa was an Omega, and not an Enigma.
But this year, he had been wiser than he was last year. And he had started to pursue Lele right away, but.. it has already been half a year. And all of his advances - no matter how obvious - had flown right through the other boy's head. Huasheng, like his papa, had obviously been frustrated by the lack of response from the other party, but like his father, he did not give up on his pursuit.
His chase had been so obvious, that even Shen Wenlang could tell from where he sat on the kitchen counter, legs swinging as his lover scolds him quietly - but had also been finishing his cooking - Wenlang had actually helped. Well, he tried.
But with his hearing as an S-Level Alpha, his ears had perked at the noise of Huasheng, who had come over. All the way from the living room.. "You know, you could be my date to the Qixi festival!.."
At first, he had raised an eyebrow. First, Hua Yong had ruined his love life, now his kid is going off to try it on Lele? But by the way Lele reacts.. it seems like it's been going on for a while now. "Since I'm a good friend, I'll ask my papa and daddy if I can go. Mm, but who else should we invite?"
Wenlang bursts into a laughter that only made the bunny stare at him as though he had been crazy. "What?" He's plating the food, now. "Come and help me."
The Alpha had hopped off the counter, and did what he was told, he had then told his Tuzi about what he had laughed about. "I think he's kind of like you."
"Me? Why me?" He had dropped his smile immediately, hands on his hips with an indignant pout. How dare his own husband!-
Yong, who had come with his husband to pick up their child and stay a little for dinner, had cut in, huffing out a long breath as though Wenlang had done something to offend him in his last life, "because you are so dense it hurts to watch. Poor Secretary Gao had to suffer with your pea-sized brain!"
  "You!-"
And before they could bicker further, the children had interrupted them. The entire 'humble' abode of Wenlang and Tu was saved from the bickering of two best friends who might bite each other's head off on the grounds of banter.
Xiao Peanut, who had been almost as shameless as his father, had placed a good piece of meat in front of Lele before Yong could've gotten it to feed to Shaoyu, had then asked again. "For the Qixi festival.. do we have to bring other people?"
"Well- I haven't even.." Lele had looked up through his glasses to look at his two dads, and asked if he could go right then and there.
Shaoyu had felt a little bad for his own son, watching it from a third-person perspective truly made him feel how it must've felt when Wenlang had been watching Yong chase him for years, and how Tu had to suffer through Wenlang's idiocy.
"The Qixi festival is going to be fun, we should bring lots of friends to celebrate it with!.." Huasheng can just feel the frustration building within him, pink lips pursing ever so slightly, resembling both of his dads at once.
Lele had merely pushed up his glasses, and then placed a piece of meat onto Huasheng's bowl. "This one is good, you should eat more, Peanut." Just like his father always does.. the enigma positively melts at the little affection he is given, and eats it as though it were precious.
Gao Tu, who had felt bad, had told Lele to go to the Qixi festival with Huasheng in the case that their other friends might just want to go on their own duo dates.
--------------------------------------------
Lele, with the advice of his two dads, had worn something nicer than he usually would.
The S-Alpha of Shengfang Biotech had made sure his son had brought nice presents for the other boy who he would go on this date with. They were going to be at the Huangpu-Jiang, but they had opted to just walk there instead. It was going to be just around 15 minutes by foot, but of course, with how they'd stop around the stalls of celebration, it would take all night.
But as they stood across from each other, people celebrating around them, they were.. just friends. Huasheng has to say something or else he might end up like his father who had chased for 15 years!
Calming his nerves, he had shoved the gift bag he had been holding in his hands for a while into Lele's, which had been holding a Tanghulu. Cheeks adorable stuffed. "Ha? Is this a gift? Thank you, Peanut!" Well, at least he wasn't dense enough to think it wasn't for him.
"No- well!-.. It is for you, but I.. I have something to say." The S-Alpha had stared at him expectantly, and it had only made the blood in his face pulsate, more rushing to paint his cheeks a beet-red color.
"It's okay! You can tell me anything." That's not helpful.
"I.. I like you!" Thinking after a little bit.. Huasheng should probably reinforce that statement. "Like.. uh. Like couples do, romantic couples!" Well, it dawns on Lele's face almost immediately, with a flustered expression. This time, there will be no more misunderstandings.
"Do.. you? Really?" Those hands clutch onto the gift bag like it was his lifeline. The boy's Tanghulu had been dropped to the ground long ago. As they stared at each other, Huasheng starts to feel a bit of dread. Maybe this was wrong. Maybe it was a mistake- "I like you, too. Like couples."
  Oh.
"W-why didn't you say anything?" That was the only thing he could ask, because right now, he feels like if he says anything else, he might truly run out of breath and die on the spot. His teenage years were going to end happily, but before his love life actually gets to start.
"You always talk to that beta with the hair clips.. so I thought- I thought you were going out with her!.."
From a good 20 feet distance away, two pairs of adults, who had dressed so casually they blended in with the crowd - and their own things in hand to celebrate their own Qixi - had almost fallen to their knees in agony, unable to fathom how that came to be in Lele's head.
"He really can't read the room at all! Wenlang, this is your fault!" Yong had teased, and pulled Shaoyu along. Finally, they'd be able to spend time by themselves. "Mr. Sheng, where do you want to go?" His arms wrapped around the S-Level Alpha, he had clung affectionately.
Huasheng loves the adorable Gao Lele, even if he was a little dense. Though - he was glad he wasn't as bad as his father, if descriptions from Hua Yong had been accurate.
