  That night, in Country P at Beichao Holding's banquet, Gao Tu had been there. Many guests from Jianghu had been there, and so had he.

  Younger than him were three other boys.

  Well, there were more than four young boys running around, but Tu wasn't particularly interested in the others—because this wasn't about them. This was about him and his little circle.

  He had known there was something with Hua Yong—the 13th son of Beichao's long line of illegitimate children—that he wasn't an Omega. He knew the young boy was.. more than that, and he found it as safety. Because he wasn't alone, even if back then he hadn't known why. One could say, in a crowd of many others, one would still be able to find their own kin. Because while they were not related by blood, there had definitely been something else in their DNA that connected them. A similarity that no other secondary gender had.

  Like how an Omega would be able to tell if someone were also an Omega. Someone like Gao Tu, with something special within his blood, had been able to tell Hua Yong was no different than he was.

  It seemed the younger boy had thought so as well, because they were close for a few days before the banquet. Where now, he was bullied by his own half-siblings. And an Alpha had approached, playing his hero. Gao Tu had seen all of it through his own eyes, the sudden infatuation that grew deep and started to foster.

  Amidst this—Tu had been bumped into by another Alpha. Seemingly also S-Level that was just around the one who bumped into Hua Yong's age. But likely a little younger by a few years.

  Gao Tu was not startled at all, he had almost expected the Alpha to bump into him. After all, he could smell the luring Iris from down the green path, but that was not the same for the young boy who stared at him with wide eyes. Shimmering under the dim lighting nearby, with big brown eyes that resembled a puppy.

  The puppy's lips had trembled unlike any Alpha, "Sorry! I didn't see you." Of course, he wouldn't have seen Gao Tu, he was running while looking the other direction.

  "Shen Wenlang." A hard voice cut through, and immediately, the Alpha seemed to have suppressed a shudder. There was a strike of pain through his eyes, before he was pulled off his little feet by the collar of his shirt. He was pliant, and had shrunk into himself. "Should you be running?"

  The boy, Shen Wenlang, did not answer. Instead, he stayed silent, as though opening his mouth would bring him some sort of punishment. But it seemed that the boy hadn't learned the ways of life yet, because no matter what he did, he'd still be subjected to it. "I've asked you a question."

  The puppy shuddered under the commanding tone, and he shrunk even further as he answered his father.

  His next answer had been drowned out, because all Gao Tu had worried about was the way he shivered. How his eyes welled up with tears that made them seem like glass. How he was just so pretty, it was almost unbearable.

  That night, Gao Tu, like his friend, had also found his own obsession.

  Gao Tu took wind of Hua Yong making friends with Wenlang through Ying Yi, who had still been alive back then. With both parents being close, Yong had connected with Wenlang all the while keeping his Enigma friend out of the picture. Gao Tu wasn't ready yet, and Hua Yong would drag out the time for him.
