Why Don't You Stay has been one of my favorites recently by Jeff Satur
POV: 3rd Person
Even though Kim had been the one to break it off with the younger male, he was the one who has been longing. In regret and wallowing in his own self-pity. Even as Kim was the only brave one in his family who ran away from home to be able to chase his dreams, he was also the only one who came back, unable to reach even further due to his own cowardice. Unable to chase for his heart. Kim's has had past lovers. But never this deep.
  His brothers, however, know.
Tankhun was the first one to witness it.
Kim rushing into their estate with dark mascara running down his face, hands shaking as they wipe his tears - only for makeup to smear all over. It was clear the male was just out of a show. He dragged his suitcase along, and once he had been too weak to keep moving with all his shaking, their youngest had dropped onto his knees and sobbed.
Never once had Tankhun seen his youngest brother so broken before - not even when he had defied their father and ran off. Not when he had hugged Tankhun when he was little after having been reunited and cried in his arms.
Tankhun had brushed the messy hair out of his eyes, and when their gazes met - broken met worried - he had truly felt his heart burst. "Alai? Who did this to you, my precious nong?" But Kim had only choked up another cry out of his throat, pretty voice in tatters, unable to explain.
Lipstick smeared, smokey eye makeup wiped over and over, the glitter on his hair mixed with the ones on his face. And his tears were amplified by the terrible blackness that was his eyeliner and mascara. Like the sad ones people would see on TV, like the eyes that would make one want to cry along. Yet.. this was all too real.
The last few to witness it were Kinn and his guards, having to drag Kim up to his feet and carry him back to his room - to which, Kinn had carried him on his own with his guards to come and help Kim from his state of distress.
And that was the last of it - once he was in his room, he had pushed everyone out. Screaming in a way that was definitely not good for his voice - and while Kim had a very high range and pitch, it was sometimes a very bad thing when he was angry. "Get out! I don't want to see any of your stupid faces!"
Their littlest was upset, and they don't even know why. Kim would never say any of this to them, and it hurt. Hurt not because these things were being thrown at them, no. But hurt because they can feel the pain for their youngest.
The food trays that were placed in front of the usually vacant room stayed until cold. Untouched. The door stayed locked. The windows stayed shut with dark, dusty black-outs. There were sobs coming from there, and each report seemed worse than the last. Tankhun couldn't reach him, and it seemed Kinn couldn't either.
Kinn's found he's been hanging out with some kid before he came back screaming. 'Porchay', who just had to be his boyfriend's little brother.
While Kinn loves the other man, he was closer to his family than he would ever admit - but here, he had taken Porsche by his collar. "Tell me - what were you plotting?" Shoved until they reach a wall where Porsche would try and push him away, "What did your family do to my brother?!"
"Nothing! I don't know anything, I've been here with you!"
"You bring him back here, now."
---------------------------------------------------------
When Porchay knocked on the door, there was only a broken scream that left him taking a step back. "Didn't you hear what I said? Go away!.." His voice was cracked, and definitely dehydrated, from what anyone could tell. But no one was here with him, letting him take care of this by himself because Chay was the one who hurt their youngest.
  "P'Kim.."
  Deep, heavy silence.
The type of silence that one would experience down in a submarine tank. Pressure all around, pressing down on his chest even when his heart thumped hard in his ears. Blood rushing and flooding his brain.
Beats of empty silence passed before he broke it again. "Can we talk?" It's quiet, but there's a click on the door. He knows to not come in, but he does it anyway. When the door opens, a rush of coldness went over him. From the cracks beneath the door, he knew there was air-conditioning, but they were blasting into each corner of this room. As though an attempt to numb the singer before him of his pain.
It's clear that he's cleaned, but his eyes are puffy, and his lips are swollen, bleeding from how much he'd bitten into them. When Kim falls into his arms, longing for the warmth of someone he's supposed to forget, Chay can feel how skinny he's gotten under the baggy clothes he wore. He was pale in a way that was not healthy, the way he shook was not just because of the cold.
  "P'Kim.."
Even as Kim was so tired of crying, the tears had been forced out of his dehydrated body and his soul shook. He still grasped at the younger man with all his strength, to keep him close. No words were said, but Porchay can always tell.
  "I'm sorry."
---------------------------------------------------------
They lay in bed together. The AC turned off now, under the blankets where Porchay had wrapped an arm around his waist, spooning him. "I'm sorry, Chay.." Kim had eaten a little more, of course not a lot right away, especially not after so long. While the singer had been on diets, it was never like this. His hair smelled of shampoo, back to its usual smoothness, and right now, puffy and pretty.
The younger musician had sniffed at his head, and kissed him at the crown of it. "I know, P'. You didn't mean it."
Kim had always wanted good for Chay, and it was the only way.
At first, he had been hurt, but now he's grown. Even just a few weeks, he's grown. He understands.
"I love you a lot, okay?" He had whispered to the older, who had only nuzzled closer to him. "Why don't you stay? I'm sure it's worth a try."
  "I'd like that."
