Chapter 3: Marty's Audition

Friday October 25th 1985
3:27PM

Chris peddled his bike until he reached Hill Valley High School, he soon arrived and ran straight to the gym which was where Marty's audition was, as Chris entered the gym he saw many other bands waiting in line for their turn, and the three judges one of them carrying a megaphone, Marty and Jennifer were the front of the line as Marty's band The Pinheads was setting up

"Marty!" called out Chris

"Hey, Chris you made it!" said Marty as he hugged him

"Are you nervous?" asked Chris

"A Little bit" he answered

"You'll do great, Marty" said Chris

"What if I fail?" asked Marty

"Next please, next group please" said the teacher carrying the megaphone

Marty then went up on stage to join the band not before he got a good luck kiss from Jennifer, as soon as he plugged in his guitar, he straight to the microphone with a gave out a little feedback.

"Alright, we're the Pinheads" announced Marty

"1, 2, 3"

Marty and rest of The Pinheads then started playing a really rockin version of "The Power of Love"  as they played Chris was banging his head and cheered him on, unfortunately Marty didn't even get a chance to finish the song, as the teacher who was carrying the megaphone was the telling the band to stop playing.

"Ok, thank you fellas, woah hold it fellas, I'm afraid you're just too darn loud" said the teacher with the megaphone

Marty then got a look of disappointment on his face, Jennifer also looked disappointed, Chris had a look of shock and disappointment, he was shocked that they called their music "too loud" when it was the one of the best performances he'd ever seen from them and was disappointed that Marty didn't get his chance

"Next please, bring the next group please" said the teacher with the megaphone

Marty then took his guitar off his neck and walked off stage

In the town square...
As Marty, Jennifer and Chris kept walking through the town square Marty was still upset that the judge back at the gym called his music too loud

"Too loud, I can't believe it, I'll never even get a chance to play in front of everybody" said Marty

"Marty, one rejection isn't the end of the world" said Jennifer

"Yeah, those judges back there don't know shit about music" said Chris "they probably grew up listening to some boring classical crap like Beethoven or Mozart or something"

"Nah, I just don't think I'm cut out for music" said Marty

"That's not true you're good Marty, really good" said Chris

"You're my brother Chris, you have so say that besides I don't really think I'm that good" said Marty

"No, he's right you're really good, and this audition tape of yours is great you've gotta send into the record company" Jennifer responded while holding a demo tape of The Pinheads' music

"It's like how Doc always says-" said Chris

"Yeah, I know I know, if you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything" said Marty interrupting his brother's sentence
