Prompt:
The morning sun cast a warm glow as you walked through the school gates, desperately trying to hide the evidence of last night's passionate encounter with Gwen. You had attempted to cover the love bites on your neck, but they were still visible to the discerning eye.
As you reached your locker, your heart skipped a beat when Duncan, the resident punk known for his bantering and snide remarks, sauntered over with a sly grin on his face. His sharp eyes honed in on your neck, and you could practically feel the smirk forming on his lips.
"Well, well, well," Duncan drawled, his voice laced with amusement as he opened up the locker next to yours. "Looks like someone had a wild night, huh?"
You stuck your head inside your locker to hide your embarrassment. With flushed cheeks, you stammered, "What are you talking about, Duncan? You're imagining things."
The last thing you wanted was for Duncan to display this information around the school. Any sort of gossip at Wawanakwa High spread like a wildfire.
Duncan chuckled, tossing his jacket into his locker. "Imagining things, huh? Those sure look like hickeys to me."
Panic welled up within you as you searched for the right words to deflect his observation. "I— um..."
Suddenly, a voice cut through the tension, saving you from further discomfort. "Leave Y/N alone, Duncan. It's none of your business."
Gwen, her broody demeanor intact, emerged from the crowd of teens, standing defiantly by your side. Duncan's smirk faltered a bit when he noticed his friend had come to your defense.
"Damn Pasty, chill out," Duncan muttered, before sauntering off, leaving you and Gwen standing there, caught in an awkward moment.
You let out a breath of air you didn't know you were holding, feeling a mixture of gratitude and apprehension. "Thanks, Gwen. I... I didn't know how to handle that."
Gwen put a reassuring hand on your shoulder. "You just have to ignore him and he'll drop it. Duncan's not the type to spread rumors, so you don't have to worry about him."
"Well that's a relief," you uttered with a slight laugh. "But since Duncan noticed these before I could even get my locker open, do you mind toning it down next time?" You pointed at your neck and Gwen smiled.
"Will do," Gwen hummed, slinging her arm around your shoulder. "Now let's swing by the cafeteria to get some coffee before classes start, yeah?"
Questions to keep in mind as you envision yourself interacting with Gwen:
Are you dating Gwen or do you just have a thing with her? Do your peers know that you guys have been talking? Have you made your relationship public? Do you think Duncan knows that Gwen gave you those hickeys? Do you get along with Duncan at all? How long have you been going to the school for? Are you a newer student or have you been at Wawanakwa your whole life?
