Prompt:
You walked into the bustling hallways of your high school, nerves bubbling up inside you. Gwen, the goth girl, had agreed to let you cut her hair. Her unique style had always intrigued you, and you couldn't wait to give her a fresh new look. However, the fear of making a mistake and cutting her hair too short gnawed at the back of your mind.
Gwen sat in a chair in your makeshift salon in the school bathroom, her jet-black and midnight blue streaked hair flowing down her back. She raised an eyebrow, a skeptical expression on her face. "So, you really think you can handle this?"
You nodded, trying to sound confident. "Absolutely! I've been practicing, and I think I can give you a killer new style. Trust me, Gwen."
She sighed, crossing her arms. "Alright, but remember, if you mess this up, I won't hesitate to make you regret it."
You gulped, feeling the weight of her words. You picked up the scissors, your hands slightly shaking. As you carefully trimmed Gwen's hair, you were keen on preserving her edgy appearance while adding a touch of something fresh. The sound of the scissors snipping through her locks filled the room, the tension mounting with each cut.
Gwen watched you intently through the mirror, her eyes narrowing. "You seem nervous. Should I be worried about this experiment of yours?"
You chuckled nervously. "No, no, it's just important to me that I get it right."
After a few more snips, you stepped back to assess your progress. Gwen's hair was shorter, but it still retained her unique style. However, you couldn't shake the feeling that it might be a bit too short.
Gwen turned her head, her eyes widening in shock. "You cut it too short!"
Your heart sank as you realized she was right. You had gotten carried away, trying to perfect the style, and ended up cutting off more than intended.
"I'm so sorry, Gwen," you stammered, guilt washing over you. "I didn't mean to cut it that short. I got carried away."
She sighed, running her fingers through her shorter hair. "Well, it's done now. I guess I'll have to rock this look until it grows out."
You were surprised by Gwen's calm reaction. She didn't seem angry or upset, just accepting of the situation. "Are you sure you're okay with it?"
Gwen smirked. "Hey, I'm the resident goth girl, remember? I can handle a bad haircut."
You couldn't help but smile at her response. Gwen's compassionate nature came through even in this situation, making the best of an unexpected outcome.
Over the next few days, as Gwen walked the halls of Wawanakwa High, you noticed something interesting. Despite the shorter hair, her confidence seemed to soar. She owned the new look and rocked it with her usual style. It was as if the haircut had only added to her unique charm.
One afternoon, as you watched Gwen from a distance, she caught your gaze and walked over to you. "Thanks for giving me a new look," she said, her voice genuine. "Even though it didn't turn out as planned, it was a bold move."
You nodded, grateful for her kind words. "I'm really sorry about cutting it too short, though."
She shrugged, a smirk finding its way to her lips. "Who knows, maybe I'll start a new trend with this haircut. The 'Gwen Cut'."
You both shared a laugh, realizing that sometimes mistakes could lead to unexpected outcomes.
Questions to keep in mind as you envision yourself interacting with Gwen:
What prompted you to cut her hair in the school bathroom? Did Gwen desperately need a haircut? Have you ever cut someone's hair before? Or did you practice on mannequins? Do you want to be a cosmetologist when you get older? Or were you just experimenting? Did anyone walk into the bathroom when you cut Gwen's hair?
