Prompt:
The gym class was divided into teams, and you and Tyler found yourselves on opposing sides. The competitive atmosphere was palpable, but nothing could prepare you for what was about to happen.
As the game of dodgeball began, Tyler's athletic prowess was on full display. Despite be awkwardly coordinated, he dodged, ducked, and weaved through the flurry of dodgeballs, impressing everyone with his agility. But, as fate would have it, a stray dodgeball flew through the air and struck Tyler square in the face.
A burst of laughter erupted from some of the students, their mocking voices echoing through the gym. But you, concerned for Tyler's well-being, immediately rushed over to him, pushing teammates out of the way to get to him.
"Tyler, are you okay?" you asked, worry etched on your face as you knelt down beside him.
Tyler winced, his face red from the impact. He looked up at you, a mix of pain and embarrassment evident in his brown eyes. "Yeah, I-I'm fine," he stammered, trying to mask his discomfort. "Just a little hit to the face, no big deal."
However, you could see through his brave facade. "Come on, let's get you up," you said, offering him a hand.
Tyler hesitated for a moment but then took your hand, allowing you to help him up. As he stood, you noticed a red mark on his cheek where the dodgeball had struck him.
"Ouch, that looks like it stings," you commented sympathetically, hoping to offer some comfort. "I can't believe those students laughed. That wasn't cool at all. But don't worry, Tyler, I'm here for you."
Tyler's eyes met yours, gratitude shining through the pain. "Thanks. Uh... you know, you're always so kind. I know I can count on you."
You smiled warmly, understanding Tyler's need for reassurance. "Of course! We're friends, and friends look out for each other. Accidents happen, but it doesn't define you. You're an amazing athlete, and a little mishap won't change that."
Tyler's smile grew, and he stood a little taller. "You really think so?"
"Absolutely," you affirmed, nodding. "Although you're a bit uncoordinated, your athleticism is impressive, and your kindness shines through in everything you do. Don't let this moment discourage you. I bet you'll look back someday and laugh at it."
Tyler's confidence seemed to return, his pain momentarily forgotten. "Thanks for being there for me. It means a lot, especially coming from you."
You smiled, taking his hand and giving it a reassuring squeeze. "I'm always here for you, Tyler."
