Prompt:
Harold sat in his room, surrounded by stacks of paper and pens scattered across his desk. His heart raced as he racked his brain for the perfect words to express his feelings for Leshawna, his crush. He knew that writing a love poem wasn't exactly his area of expertise, but he was determined to make it perfect. That's when he decided to ask for help from an unlikely source - you.
"I seek your help," Harold began as you walked into his bedroom. "I'm trying to write a poem for my lovely Leshawna, and I'd thought you'd be the perfect person to lend me your expertise."
As you sat beside him, you couldn't help but smile at Harold's contagious enthusiasm. He fidgeted with his glasses, trying to contain his excitement.
"I want this poem to be, like, totally epic, you know? Something that truly captures Leshawna's beauty and awesomeness," he continued, his voice filled with determination. "I've got all these ideas swimming in my head, but I need your creative flair to make it pop. You're the best at this kind of stuff!"
You nodded, feeling a bit overwhelmed yet excited by the prospect of helping Harold. You knew just how important it was to capture Leshawna's personality in the poem, but you also wanted to make sure that Harold's feelings were accurately expressed.
You took a deep breath, then began to ask Harold some questions. "What are some of the things you adore about Leshawna?"
Harold scratched his head, his glasses slightly askew as he pondered the question. "Uh, well, Leshawna, she's, like, super confident and sassy, you know? She's always, standing up for what she believes in, no matter what. It's, like, seriously admirable. She's a total force to be reckoned with. You can't mess with her, like, at all."
You smiled, deciding to weave these words into the poem. You began to type on your computer, capturing the essence of Leshawna's personality.
"Her fiery spirit ignites the room, a force that cannot be contained," you wrote. "Confidence radiates in her every step, as she fearlessly stands tall, unconstrained."
Harold watched in awe as the words appeared on your computer screen. You had perfectly captured Leshawna's fierce and empowering presence, just as he had described.
But you knew that a love poem also had to express vulnerability and tenderness. You turned to Harold and asked him, "How does Leshawna make you feel?"
Harold's face turned as red as a tomato, his glasses fogging up for a moment. "Uh, well, you see, she, uh, she makes me feel all alive and stuff. Whenever she's, like, nearby, my heart starts beating like crazy, and I can't help but, you know, have this big goofy smile on my face. She, uh, brings out the best side of me, even when I'm feeling like the biggest geek on the planet."
You smiled, your fingers flying across the keyboard as you captured Harold's emotions.
"In her presence, my awkwardness fades, like a forgotten memory," you wrote. "Her smile lights up my world, and her laugh is a symphony. With her, I feel accepted, cherished, and set free."
Harold's heart swelled with a mixture of excitement and nervousness. You had created a beautiful poem that perfectly encapsulated his admiration and love for Leshawna. But he knew he couldn't rely solely on you to express his feelings. He had to make it personal.
Taking a deep breath, Harold picked up his pen and added his own touch to the poem. He poured his heart onto the page, blending his admiration for Leshawna with his own nerdy charm.
"Leshawna, you're like a shining star in a universe of dullness," Harold wrote. "Whenever we cross paths, my heart takes a wild, exhilarating swim. So please, accept this heartfelt poem, my nerdy, humble plea, and understand that you're the one who makes my heart bounce with giddy glee."
As Harold finished writing, he couldn't help but smile. With your help, he had created a heartfelt and genuine love poem for Leshawna.
Harold folded the poem and sealed it in an envelope, ready to share it with the girl who had stolen his heart.
Questions to keep in mind as you envision yourself interacting with Harold:
How did Harold reach out for your help? Did he ask you during school or through a text? Are you close with Harold? Do you talk to Leshawna at all? How did you feel after Harold finished the poem? Were you proud of him? Excited for him? Does Leshawna know that Harold likes her? Are Leshawna and Harold talking or is it just one-sided?
