This is so cheesy I'm sorry
Prompt:
The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air as you stepped into your favorite local coffee shop. As you scanned the room, your eyes landed on Noah, the sarcastic and reserved bookworm you had grown fond of over time.
Noah sat alone at a table near the window, engrossed in a worn paperback, his brow furrowed in concentration. With a small smile, you approached him, feeling a mix of nervousness and excitement bubbling inside you.
"Hey, Noah," you greeted, trying to suppress the flutter in your stomach. "Mind if I join you?"
Noah looked up from his book, surprise flickering across his face before he responded with his usual dry wit. "Well, I suppose I can tolerate your presence for a little while longer."
You chuckled, taking a seat across from him. The conversation flowed effortlessly as you discussed your latest reads, swapping recommendations and engaging in friendly banter. Noah's sarcastic remarks had a way of making you laugh.
As the afternoon sun cast a warm glow through the window, signaling the end of your coffee break, you felt a mixture of disappointment and a sudden urge to take a leap of faith. The thought of leaving without expressing your true feelings became unbearable.
Summoning all your courage, you took a deep breath and leaned in closer, your heart pounding in your chest. "Noah, there's something I've been meaning to tell you."
Noah's eyebrows raised in mild surprise, setting his book aside. "I'm all ears."
You hesitated for a moment, your words momentarily escaping you. But with a determined smile, you continued, "I... I really enjoy spending time with you. You're witty, intelligent, and you have this way of making me feel like no one else does."
Noah's face softened, his usual snarky demeanor giving way to a genuine warmth. "I feel the same way," he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper.
Encouraged by his response, you took a leap of faith, closing the distance between you. Your lips met in a sweet and awkward kiss, filled with the flutter of butterflies and the anticipation of something new. Stuttering and blushing, you both pulled away, eyes locked, and smiles tugging at the corners of your mouths.
"I... I didn't expect that," Noah stammered, his cheeks tinged with a delightful shade of pink.
You chuckled, feeling a rush of affection and relief. "Me neither. But I'm glad it happened."
The coffee shop seemed to fade into the background as you both sat in the moment, basking in the warmth of newfound connection. You realized that the awkwardness and uncertainty only added to the sweetness of this shared experience.
"I've spent so much time hidden behind books," Noah confessed, his voice tinged with vulnerability. "But being with you makes me realize that there's so much more to life than just words on a page."
Your heart swelled with tenderness, appreciating the honesty in Noah's words. "And I'm grateful that you've let me into your life, Noah," you replied softly.
Questions to keep in mind as you envision yourself interacting with Noah:
Did you meet Noah at the coffee shop? Or did you meet him somewhere else? If you met him somewhere else, where? How long have you guys been friends for? What is your go to coffee order? Do you guys usually sit together in the same spot at the coffee shop? Or do you like to move around? How long have you liked Noah for? Did you ever think Noah would like you back or did you believe he would reject you?
