Taehyung POVWhat in the world was I thinking ? Seriously, was I temporarily brain-dead? I found myself touching my lips repeatedly, replaying the moment over and over again like a broken record. This is not what friends do.
Friends high-five, they don’t lip-lock!
But then there’s Jungkook. What was he thinking?
Even a cheek kiss is a little weird when it’s between best friends, but he went full-on lip service!
I couldn’t sleep the whole night; my brain was running a marathon thinking about that kiss. At this rate, I was going to need therapy....
Suddenly, my alarm clock beeped, rudely interrupting my mental breakdown. I realized it was 5 AM, and all I could do was close my eyes and pray for a coma so I wouldn’t have to face reality. But, of course, reality has other plans.
After what felt like five seconds of blissful unconsciousness, a knock on the door startled me awake.
"Mr. Kim, may I come in?" It was Gabriella, our very own walking-talking human alarm clock. I grumbled something unintelligible, and she took it as an invitation.
"Rise and shine, Mr. Kim! It’s time to go to school!" she chirped, yanking open the curtains and flooding the room with enough sunlight to blind me.
"I don't think I can go. I feel...sick." I pulled the blanket over my face, trying to sound as pitiful as possible.
Gabriella gave me a skeptical look."Really? Let me check." She yanked the blanket away and put her hand on my forehead.
"Your temperature is perfectly normal, Mr. Kim."
"Well, it’s a slow fever, okay? It’s working up to its full potential. I still feel the symptoms." I said, faking a cough for dramatic effect.
"Uh-huh. When did you even get sick? You never leave the house." she said, raising an eyebrow.
"Look, it’s snowing, the weather’s cold, and apparently, i just got sick." I replied, lamely.
"Nice try, but you’re going to school. Now get up, your parents are downstairs having breakfast." She smiled at me like she had just given me a winning lottery ticket instead of a death sentence.
"Like i care." I muttered, dragging myself to the bathroom.
After putting on the least wrinkled uniform I could find, I slouched downstairs. As usual, my parents were having an intense business discussion that probably involved world domination. Soohee—Yoongi's sister—was lounging on the couch, sipping her coffee. This woman drink coffee like water.
I ignored everyone and was about to bolt when...
"Good morning," Soohee greeted with the enthusiasm of a morning person. I wanted to cry.
"What’s so good about this morning?" I practically shouted, catching the attention of my parents. Soohee just laughed.
"Whoa, someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed." she teased, sipping her coffee like nothing was amiss.
"Leave him alone. Looks like he’s got a splinter up his ass." Yoongi chimed in with a smirk.
"Yes, and that splinter is you two!" I snapped, feeling my blood pressure rise.
"No more arguing. You know the rules." my dad said in his calm-but-terrifying voice, instantly shutting us up.
"Taehyung, are you okay, baby?" my stepmother asked, floating towards me.
