   donghyuck entered the cafeteria and paused, looking around the room before his eyes locked on his target. then he made a beeline towards the spotted figure, wrapping his arms around them from behind as soon as they came in contact. "it's almost your birthday," he said excitedly. minhyung grabbed a hold of his wrist, tugging him forward so that their chests would meet instead of how donghyuck had been back hugging him, "indeed, it is."

   "let's do something to celebrate!" donghyuck exclaimed as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. to his surprise, minhyung only shrugged. "i'm more of the stay at home and chill with friends kind of guy. maybe go get dinner for my birthday at most."

   donghyuck stepped back fully, gaping at him and unable to utter a single word. when he recovered, he was quick to ask, "why?! it's the one day of the year that everyone you love gets to celebrate you and you don't want to do anything special?" minhyung chuckled at his expression, nodding, "being with everyone i love is enough. i really don't need any more."

   "i refuse to let your special day go by so simply. let's go out and do something fun together," the sun kissed male suggested. "if you can some up with something fun enough, i'll go with you," minhyung gave in.

   "alright, this can't be that difficult," donghyuck cracked his knuckles. he and minhyung sat down together and while the older picked around at the awful cafeteria food on his tray, donghyuck stole his fries and thought about what events might be fun for them to go to. 

   suddenly he remembered a short article he read in the newspaper a few days prior. there was supposed to be a car show in incheon, and if he remembered correctly, the date was set for august 2nd. "hyung," he called, recieving minhyung's attention. "there's a car show in incheon on your birthday. are you interested in going?" minhyung nearly winced. "unfortunately, i never got into cars. thanks for suggesting it though."

   donghyuck watched dejectedly while the canadian returned to picking at the food he refused to eat. "are you sure?" he asked just to fully cancel that idea out before moving on to his next gameplan, "i think i heard that they're launching a new car there. toyota something..." he finished it off by scratching the back of his head, wishing he had more of a habit of paying attention to details. minhyung smiled at his enthusiasm and unintentional cuteness. "i'm sure," he said, kissing donghyuck's cheek.

   even being rejected twice, donghyuck wasn't ready to give up yet. he really wanted minhyung to have a memorable birthday, and he was prepared to do everything he could to do exactly that.
