Just trust me. All will be well. Prepare for a long chapter. I also changed the book rating to mature due to the sensitive topics discussedJeongyeon remembers when life was good. Her dreams were coming true, money was coming in, and everything seemed to be going right for her. Then 2020 came and shot her dreams in the face and set them on fire for good measure.
The mountain of bills piled on her desk weren't getting any smaller, and if she didn't come up with a way to convince an investor to partner with her, she might as well kiss her music studio goodbye. But how could she let Twice Studios go? That studio was her baby, her dream. She'd poured literal blood, sweat, and tears into that place. Giving up wasn't what she wanted to do.
That's why she was currently in the reception area of a restaurant she definitely couldn't afford, sweating bullets in a business suit that felt like it was choking her. She nervously pulled at her collar again.
"Jeongyeon, chill out," Jihyo said to her.
"I'm trying," Jeongyeon said. Her best friend gave her a small pat on the back.
"Just let me do most of the talking alright? She'll want to know about the business side of things so you shouldn't have to talk much."
"Wait, we're meeting with a woman?"
Jihyo sighed.
"Yes. I told you this already. She's the chief financial officer for the Im Corporation remember?"
Jihyo shook her head when Jeongyeon just stared at her blankly.
"I swear you don't listen to a word I say," Jihyo grumbled.
"Im Corporation? That sounds familiar," Jeongyeon said. She furrowed her brow, trying to remember where she'd heard that name before, but it wouldn't come to her. She was too worried about losing her business to concentrate properly.
"Because I told you about them multiple times you idiot."
A stylishly dressed woman appeared from the back, cutting their conversation short.
"Miss Park?" the woman said.
"Yes. That's me," Jihyo said, bowing slightly.
"This way if you please. Miss Im is ready for you."
The woman turned and began leading them to the back of the restaurant where private rooms were located. Jeongyeon had never been inside such a luxurious restaurant before and was a little overwhelmed with the exquisite decor.
The woman that was leading them stopped in front of a closed sliding door. She opened it smoothly then gestured for them to go inside.
"Thank you," Jihyo said. She and Jeongyeon both bowed to her.
Jeongyeon took in a deep breath, and braced herself for what was about to happen. This meeting could potentially change everything. Whoever this investor was, she had the power to save her studio. Jeongyeon hoped she and Jihyo could convince her to be their saving grace.
Jihyo walked in ahead of her and Jeongyeon followed suit. Her eyes landed on a woman who was turned away from them, busy ordering food. She was dressed in a very stylish baby blue pantsuit that probably cost more than Jeongyeon's entire wardrobe. Her brown hair was pulled up into a french knot. Everything about this woman was screaming elegance and Jeongyeon hadn't even seen her face yet.
"That will be all thank you."
The woman dismissed the server and turned around to greet them. Jeongyeon felt like the air had been sucked from her lungs when she saw the woman's face.
