Momo had always loved weddings. If anyone were to ask why, she'd say there was something about watching two people pledge themselves to each other and say heartfelt vows that touched her inner romantic. She imagined what it would be like when her turn finally came and she was standing across from the person that she loved with all her heart. They'd say their vows, exchange rings, and share a kiss in front of all their loved ones, just like the couple she'd watched get married tonight had done.

She'd left the happy couple shortly after wishing them congratulations on their marriage, and headed straight to the open bar across the venue. Momo dropped herself onto a stool and signaled the bartender. "A shot of tequila. And leave the bottle," she instructed. The bartender nodded and left to fulfill her request. Tequila wasn't her normal drink of choice, but tonight she needed something strong.

The bass of a high energy dance track boomed from the speakers of the dj booth, echoing across the outdoor venue and reaching her all the way at the open bar. She smiled faintly when she realized it was one of Nayeon's favorite songs to dance to when they would go out. In spite of herself, she looked towards the dance floor and easily spotted the woman in the middle of the crowd, dancing away without a care in the world. She had traded her wedding gown for a baby blue sleeveless midi dress; she looked absolutely breathtaking and Momo got lost in her beauty. Until another figure stepped up behind Nayeon and locked her in a loving embrace.

Nayeon giggled and turned around to kiss her new wife. Momo looked away when Jeongyeon pulled her closer and kissed her deeply. It felt like someone was stabbing Momo with a knife, pressing the blade deep into her heart and twisting it slowly, causing excruciating pain. The bartender returned with her tequila and she didn't waste a second to down the shot. The alcohol burned all the way down, making her gasp as her eyes watered. She quickly poured another and downed it too.

"Mind some company?" Momo simply tapped the empty stool next to her and poured another round. Jihyo eyed her carefully as she made herself comfortable. "Bartender, another glass over here," Jihyo called to the man. He brought it right away and she grabbed the bottle and poured herself a shot. She downed it just as fast as Momo had and wheezed. "Damn that's strong."

"Mhm."

The two friends sat in silence, taking turns pouring shot after shot until the edges of their vision became just a bit blurry.

"When did you know you were in love with unnie?" Jihyo asked quietly, breaking the tentative peace they had tacitly agreed upon. Momo sighed as she played with her empty shot glass.

"From the moment I met her," Momo confessed. "As soon as she smiled at me, I knew I was done for."

Flashback
"Is this seat taken?"

Momo looked up and saw the prettiest girl she'd ever laid eyes on standing in front of her. The girl pointed to the empty seat next to her, and Momo scrambled to make sure no one else could come along and claim it. "Nope. You can sit if you want," she said eagerly. The girl smiled brightly and it felt like the world suddenly burst to life around Momo. Colors became sharper than ever and everything just felt so much more....alive.

"My name's Im Nayeon. What's yours?" the girl asked, still with that radiant smile that sent butterflies dancing in Momo's stomach.

"Hirai Momo. Nice to meet you."

"You too Momo! I hope we get along."

Momo spent that semester of their fine arts class learning every single thing she could about Nayeon. They became friends, then the best of friends by the time they graduated from university. They were such good friends in fact that they ended up getting an apartment together and Momo couldn't have been happier.
