Strangers
The first time they met, Jeongyeon was hauling up the last of her boxes to her third floor apartment. She was tired and hungry and still pissed that the elevator was down for repairs on the day she moved in. At least the movers got all her furniture in the day before. Mina and Chaeyoung would've bailed on her for sure if they had to carry anything really heavy.

Jeongyeon managed to not drop the two boxes full of albums and movies despite the aching in her arms. As she finally made it to her apartment, the door across the hall from her opened up and a woman stepped out. Her neighbor maybe?

Jeongyeon almost called out to introduce herself when the woman started to argue with someone over the phone.

"You know what, if that's how you really feel then we're done! Screw you Momo!"

The woman huffed angrily and disconnected the call. Jeongyeon stood there awkwardly, not wanting to make her presence known, but she had to either bang on her door to grab her friends' attention or put her boxes down to get inside. Neither option was going to let her go unnoticed.

The mystery woman started mumbling to herself while digging through her purse. Jeongyeon caught a few not so nice words. Whoever that Momo person was had earned themself a permanent place on this woman's shit list.

The door to Jeongyeon's apartment suddenly swung open and Mina stood in the door.

"There you are unnie. Here, let me take one of those," Mina said. She grabbed the top box and turned back into the apartment. Jeongyeon was about to follow her inside when a small noise caught her attention.

"Ahem."

Jeongyeon turned around to see the woman giving her an apologetic smile.

"Hi. I'm guessing you're my new neighbor?" the woman asked.

"Yeah. I just moved in today," Jeongyeon said.

The woman nodded.

"Uh, sorry about... well, you know. I didn't mean to be so disruptive. Not a very good first impression for you huh?"

She was obviously embarrassed and Jeongyeon felt bad for her.

"Well, maybe it wasn't the best," Jeongyeon said with a slight smile. "But we all have our moments. I'm Yoo Jeongyeon by the way. Nice to meet you."

"Im Nayeon. You too. I mean, nice to meet you too. I promise I'm a good neighbor," Nayeon said.

Jeongyeon chuckled.

"Alright then Nayeon, I'll take you at your word."

"Unnie, Mina wants to know where to put your albums. Do you want them in the second bedroom?" Chaeyoung asked as she appeared at the open door.

Chaeyoung bowed politely to Nayeon before shifting her attention to Jeongyeon.

"Tell her the other room is fine. I'm coming," Jeongyeon said.

Chaeyoung disappeared back inside.

"Well, it was nice meeting you Jeongyeon. I'll let you go now so you can unpack," Nayeon said.

"It was nice meeting you too. I promise I'm a good neighbor too by the way."

Jeongyeon grinned and the other woman smiled back at her.

"Good. Well, I guess I'll see you around then Jeongyeon. Have a good day."

"You too Nayeon."

Nayeon walked towards the stairwell and Jeongyeon headed into her apartment. Nayeon seemed nice enough. Hopefully she stayed that way. Jeongyeon didn't want any problems at her new residence.
