There was nothing that a high school student wanted more in the world than to go home and be an absolute bum after a grueling day of classes, assignments, and pop quizzes. Going home and being able to binge on junk food then take a nap was the thing Kim Dahyun looked forward to the most. But unfortunately for her, her friend had other plans today.
"Chaeyoung, this is ridiculous. I could be home right now eating a choco pie! But noooo, I'm stuck here hiding in some bushes behind the school because of another one of your insane theories," Dahyun griped. She swatted at a bug that was attempting to crawl up her shoe.
"It's not a ridiculous theory! Those two are dating, and I'm going to prove it to you guys," Chaeyoung insisted as she crouched down in her spot next to Dahyun.
"Ugh, no they're not! Everyone knows Jeongyeon unnie can't stand Im Nayeon. Tzuyu back me up here please!"
Tzuyu just shrugged her shoulders and picked a leaf out of Chaeyoung's hair. "I don't pay attention to that. All I know is that Nayeon is annoying," the Taiwanese girl said.
"Some help you are," Dahyun frowned.
"I'm telling you Dubu, Jeongyeon unnie and Nayeon unnie have something going on. I saw them last week talking after school," Chaeyoung revealed dramatically like it was a huge revelation.
"Talking? That's it? You dragged us out here because you saw them talking?" Dahyun stood up and started to walk away, but Chaeyoung pulled her back down.
"Just be patient you annoying little tofu! Any second now you'll see. Just watch."
Dahyun groaned but did as her friend asked. She kept her eyes glued to the small courtyard that bordered the back of the school's main building. Most students didn't come here because of some rumor that it was haunted by the ghost of a former teacher, but Dahyun was pretty sure the teachers had made that up to keep kids from coming out here to smoke.
"Can we go now? I'm bored," Tzuyu said when ten minutes had gone by and nothing had happened.
"Just wait a little longer," Chaeyoung said.
Just when Dahyun and Tzuyu were about to give up and leave their friend behind, a girl exited the building and carefully looked around the courtyard.
