"Bunny, I don't want you getting in the water without me," Jeongyeon said seriously. "Wait for me to finish this first."
"Baby, please? I promise I'll be careful. Momo and Mina will be with me!" Nayeon pouted cutely in hopes that her girlfriend would give in. She'd been trying to convince Jeongyeon to let her go swimming with the girls for the last five minutes, but it was proving difficult. Jeongyeon was helping Jihyo set up the grill for lunch later and didn't want Nayeon to go without her.
"Im Nayeon, we talked about this. What if something happens huh? How can I keep you safe when I can't see you?"
Nayeon looked down at her feet, avoiding her girlfriend's stare. Jeongyeon felt like a jerk for how she was acting, but she just didn't want Nayeon getting hurt. The girl didn't know how to swim. What if a rogue wave knocked her down and no one could get to her in time? Jeongyeon would never be able to forgive herself if something happened to her.
"Okay. I'll wait for you," Nayeon said in a small voice that tugged at Jeongyeon's heart.
"I'm sorry Bunny. Please don't be sad." Jeongyeon set aside the tray she'd been cleaning and made her way to her girl. She took her in her arms and hugged her tight. "I'm sorry. I know I'm being a jerk. I just can't stand the thought of anything happening to you. It's my job to keep you safe."
Nayeon nuzzled into Jeongyeon's chest to hide her blush. She was eating up the whole protective girlfriend vibe Jeongyeon was giving. It definitely made up for the fact that she wouldn't let her go swimming.
Jihyo, who was unfortunately witness to this scene, scrunched her face in disgust. "I think I'm gonna be sick."
Nayeon glared at her best friend then tipped up her head up to give Jeongyeon a kiss. Her girlfriend rolled her eyes but kissed her anyway. Jeongyeon had gotten less shy about pda ever since becoming a part of her friend group which had thrilled Nayeon to no end.
"How much longer will you be then baby?" Nayeon asked.
"Not much longer. I just need to finish cleaning the grilling tray and help Jihyo stack the wood. Can you wait for me?"
"Ok. I'll just go sunbathe with Tzuyu. Come get me when you're done." Nayeon pecked her lips one last time then walked off to join their maknae.
"I can't believe I used to think you were cool," Jihyo said when Jeongyeon came back to finish her cleaning job.
"I'm still cool," the girl crush said.
"More like totally whipped. Nayeon has you wrapped around her finger."
