Another long chapter ahead

Time to herself turned out to be five days. Sana and Jihyo both scolded Jeongyeon good when she finally returned home.

"If you ever do that again, I'm going to put a tracking device on everything you own and blast your picture all over social media! I'll have all of South Korea and Japan looking for you Yoo Jeongyeon!" Sana threatened her.

"I missed you too Sana," Jeongyeon said as she hugged the woman tightly. "I'm sorry I was gone so long."

"Did you eat yet?" Jihyo asked.

"Not yet."

"Then go wash up and come eat. I cooked sausage stew."

Jeongyeon did as she was told. A few minutes later, she was seated at the table with a steaming bowl of stew, a generous serving of rice, and a few side dishes. Sana and Jihyo watched her like a hawk.

"Go ahead and ask. I know you're both dying to know," Jeongyeon prompted.

"Where were you?" Sana demanded.

"And why the hell didn't you answer your phone? We get one text saying you're okay, then nothing. Do you know how worried we all were about you?" Jihyo said.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to worry you. I stayed at a little bed and breakfast just outside the city. I just needed time to sort some things out."

"You couldn't do that here?" Sana pouted. "We could have talked with you."

"I know Sana, but this was something I needed to do by myself."

"Well, did it help?" Jihyo asked.

"It did."

"So you're really going to work with her?"

Sana wasn't entirely onboard with this business deal; she didn't want Jeongyeon to get hurt.

"Yes. I can save my studio. That's what I've been trying to do ever since the pandemic happened."

Sana still didn't look convinced so Jeongyeon reached over and squeezed her hand.

"It's going to be fine. Jihyo will throw her out on her ass before I can even blink if she tries anything."

"Yeah, well, if she messes up even once, she'll have wished she'd never been born once I get through with her," Sana warned.

"I'll drink to that," Jihyo said as she raised her beer. She and Sana knocked cans and drank deeply.

"You two almost make me feel sorry for her," Jeongyeon said before taking a big bite of stew.

"Don't get all soft on her just because she's pretty," Jihyo said.

"Whatever." Jeongyeon rolled her eyes. "Let's stop talking about her now."

Jeongyeon didn't expect to see Nayeon that much. She'd made herself clear that Jihyo would be handling things. But much to her surprise, Nayeon made an appearance at the studio at least once a week. Jeongyeon didn't really know how to act around the older woman so more often than not she shut herself up in her office.

Nayeon never approached her or made any attempts at conversation. She was sticking to their "business associates" only agreement. Just because she had apologized didn't mean they were suddenly going to become friends.

This arrangement went on for two blissful months. Maybe it could have gone on forever. Except for one little problem.

Twice Studios was busier than ever and making money.
