Jeongyeon was welcomed by the familiar sights and smells of Once Twice bookstore the moment she entered. She just loved the smell of paper and ink mixing together with the overwhelming scent of freshly brewed coffee. There was nothing like it for her. She closed her eyes and took in a deep breath before releasing it slowly with a satisfied sigh.

Perfect.

The bookstore was just popular enough to have a small crowd of customers already inside browsing the latest releases on this Wednesday morning. Jeongyeon preferred coming to Once Twice over any other bookstore because it was never overcrowded like those trendy, corporate shops. This place was perfect for an introvert like her.

Plus they had a killer americano and she couldn't go a day without one.

Jeongyeon headed to the comic section, already knowing what she wanted. There was a new release of her favorite manwha, "The Black Swan Is Actually A Penguin!", and she couldn't wait to get her hands on it.

Her eyes scoured over the vast amount of collections before spotting the familiar mint green color that the artist used. She passed her finger over the books, softly counting the series out loud as she glided over each one that she already had in her possession.

"1,2,3,4,5, aha! 6!" Jeongyeon softly exclaimed when she spotted the new release. She pulled it from the shelf and admired the cover.

In big bold script, "The Black Swan Is Actually A Penguin!" filled the top of the cover, with "volume 6" in much smaller lettering just underneath it. The main character, Sharon, took up the rest of the cover. Sharon was wearing her signature black and white leotard while her sidekick, a small, talking tiger cub named Baby Beast, sat between her legs.

Jeongyeon admired the artist's attention to detail, marveling over every brush stroke and color choice. Son Chaeyoung wasn't the biggest manwha artist in the industry, but Jeongyeon thought she deserved to be on top. Her art was phenomenal and her stories were really funny.

With her new acquisition in hand, Jeongyeon headed for the coffee counter. A cup of iced americano was calling her name. An all too familiar face greeted her when she arrived.

"Good morning unnie! The usual?" the barista asked happily.

"Yes please. Thanks Dahyunie," Jeongyeon said.

"Coming right up!"

Dahyun had been working here for almost a year now. Over the course of that year, she had struck up a friendship with Jeongyeon. They bonded over their mutual love of poetry and manwhas.

"So any big plans for your special day unnie?" Dahyun asked once she had finished grinding the coffee beans to make espresso.

"I'm having dinner with my family tonight. My dad is grilling pork belly for me," Jeongyeon said.

"Wah! I'm jealous unnie." Dahyun skillfully pressed the ground coffee into the portafilter then racked it into the espresso machine to begin the magic. "Eat some for me tonight okay?"

"I will."

Dahyun readied a cup of ice water then poured the freshly brewed espresso into it, creating Jeongyeon's favorite coffee beverage.

"Here you go unnie. One iced americano, on me. Happy birthday!" Dahyun said as she handed over the drink.

"Aww, Dahyunie! Thank you," Jeongyeon said gratefully.

"One more thing unnie."

Dahyun glanced around furtively before motioning Jeongyeon to come closer. Jeongyeon leaned in.
