Blank Canvas

Blank Canvas--

A face obscured by shadows,
A figure cloaked in mystery,
Yet there is something familiar
In the set of his jaw,
The curve of his lips.

He stands before a blank canvas,
A blank canvas that is his life,
And in his eyes I see
The dreams he has yet to paint,
The stories he has yet to tell.

I wonder who he is,
This man with the hidden face,
But I know that he is someone
Who has seen the world,
Who has lived, who has loved.

And I know that he is someone
Who is still searching,
Still searching for meaning,
Still searching for his place in the world.
